I'm shocked by your poor reading comprehension that you think your example shocks me. If you're this bad in English, I find your analyses conducted in foreign languages (such as Japanese) difficult to take seriously, to say the least.

It gets worse before it gets better. Japan may very well attempt harder to suppress China, but once again, my belief that they value self-preservation over loyalty to America is only tested when it becomes apparent that further efforts will have no avail except to doom them.

It's your destiny to carry your poor reading comprehension from English onto other languages and misunderstand cultures all over the world as you pretend to understand everything but actually understand nothing. Even your elementary level questions on the F-35 vs J-35 show you to be a person of very very poor reading. I've so far been shocked by nothing except your incompetence.

Since you are resorting to personal attacks about reading comprehensions, I will not drag this discussion any further. I haven't heard anything of actual substance from you that supports your argument about how Japanese will become Chinese allies the moment China gets stronger than US. All I heard is personal anecdotes about how Japanese you met in real life have been nice to you. Everyone is nice to everyone in real life, especially in the work place. You will not find Pakistanis and Indians shouting and fighting each other in a work place that they both work.

So, other than your personal experience of how Japanese are nice to you, Do you have any actual evidence of Japanese people switching sides the moment China gets stronger than the US? Nope. But evidence is contrary to your thinking, Surveys show Japanese people are the most anti-China out of all countries in the world and their hatred against China is increasing each year. Actions of Japanese government of allying more with US, imposing sanctions and tech bans against China, or raising military budgets massively also are evidence of hardening Japanese anti-China actions.

But no, Japanese people in your workplace have been nice to you and are shocked by your performance. Thus, Japanese have been proven to be extremely rational and humble people who will switch side the moment they realize China is stronger. Yap.....I am convinced!

All the ideas you read in Western media about China collapse theory, Debt trap diplomacy, Chinese people cannot innovate, Chinese people copy everything and so on. Do you know what is the source of all these delusional takes about China? The so called Chinese liberals, Rebels, self-haters.

Don't argue - he literally picked a tiny subset of Chinese people (btw, those subs are mostly filled with Taiwanese) who reside on a primarily English language platform (Reddit) to "prove" that all Chinese somehow hate themselves more than any other ethnicity, lol. This is such an obviously incorrect logical fallacy that it is clear that he is a troll.

That's your theory based on Youtube videos/theory. In real life, Hong Kong Roaches all gave up. And due to Chinese prowess in every field, we are respected as colleagues, often with jokes about Chinese people working too hard and being too smart. So, my real life experience with Japanese, Koreans, Hong Kongers and Taiwanese suggest to me that they are not blinded by ignorant hate but understand very much that China's rise is unstoppable, it is supported by world-class thinkers, and they can only move around such a megatrend.

I've never seen or heard of this in any modern Japanese person. How low must someone's IQ be to think this dispite China being superior to Japan in every way nationally? Even on a person to person level, Chinese people in the US typically outperform their Japanese counterparts both in school and at work. They simply don't have anything that would even allow them to imagine being superior to Chinese people.

That's not going to happen. China does not commit atrocies like Israelis and Japanese. If Japan respects only power, which I agree with, it logically must respect a China that can displace American power which can easily dominate over Japanese power to no end. There is no counterlogic to this other than a mythical supposition that the Japanese only understand brutality followed by a fantastical desire to see China torture and murder Japanese civilians.

While I do whole heartedly and logically agree with what you wrote, what @tamsen_ikard and @56860 contentions/arguments that as an example people in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan don't really engage in REALITY but stubbornly clung or clings to the false and dangerously wrong perception that China's achievements were made DUE TO CHEATING and not because of CHINESE INGENUITY OR INNOVATIVENESS. The Chinese superb infrastructures ARE ALL MADE OF TOFU LIKE QUALITY based on intentional distortions and overhyping some of China's prior failures in construction; that it's MILITARY TECH AND FORCES are both FEARED AND CARICATURED as nothing more than for show are sure indications that AMERICAN LED PROPAGANDA have subverted and warped the mindsets of the people in those countries including Chinese territories of Hong Kong and Taiwan.

I mean, take the clear example of the Philippines, why the heck do you think that country is hell bent on provoking a country that's CHINA who's clearly WAY OUT OF THE PHILIPPINES CAPABALITY in every meaning of the word? Their misplaced arrogance do not stem strictly from the delusional assumption that America will fight to the death, no, the arrogance comes from the FILIPINOS WILFULL IGNORANCE of the reality, accomplishments of the Chinese nation. Japan picks its fights, and knows when to 'bend the knee'. When it becomes apparent that their current path is untenable, I expect they will begrudgingly change tack, knowing there's no successful alternative.

Agree to disagree. Your open admiration of her ability to debate successfully in English suggests you overvalue this skill relative to other ones relevant to such top roles. I don't hold it against you. It's likely a byproduct of your own frequent consumption of extremely hostile English language media.

Furthermore, others have mentioned her record of being soft on the West. She might be less corrupt than others, but I would prefer leaders that have it in them to successfully formulate or execute policies that benefit the Chinese civilization-state no matter the cost to the West. I am not confident she is that kind of person.

The fact that she spends her limited post-retirement time engaging in such wasteful activities as English language debates suggests she has her priorities wrong. I would peg her as a likely pro-West sympathizer. More interested in persuading them than in outmaneuvering them. Times have changed. Win-win is a nice ideal but the time for that has been unilaterally terminated by the West. All that's left is winner takes all. She does not fit that mold.

Would be interesting to see a complete list of the current locations, alma mater, and both previous + current employers/business partners of all her immediate and extended families (including inlaws). I believe that would go a long way to addressing the concern that she is soft on the West.

Lastly, being a woman does not mean she should be promoted over a man with a more impressive CV and skillset. Recent events certainly suggest CPC promotion criteria needs to become more robust and all-encompassing, but that does not inherently mean her closet is skeleton-free. If anything, I suspect she is compromised to a similar extent as other Chinese political elites, just perhaps not in a sexual way as Qin Gang.

To follow up even further, I often agree with most of what you say. I am not suggesting she is unqualified or incompetent, but nor am I convinced she is more qualified than other candidates. Not to mention others' suggestions that her age disqualified her. Given enough time and an equalized playing field, more women will naturally rise to the top. Hence it is more important to equalize the playing field than it is to forcefully elevate women to the top at the expense of other considerations.

That being said, I believe the West's virtual signalling on social issues has distorted your sense of priorities. There is no competition to see who can have more women at the top. Any efforts to do so at the expense of anything else would have real consequences. The West is the perfect case study for this.

Lastly, her track record in Philippines is certainly a pip in her collar, but that is a low stakes proving ground. It does not come as a shock to me that Qin Gang was promoted over her, despite his other critical indiscretions (assuming we take the rumors as fact). If anything, this only proves to me that the CPC's promotion committee (or equivalent) needs a stronger partnership with MSS's equivalent to an Internal Affairs department. The auditing of promotion candidates' private affairs needs to be more intrusive, invasive, and all-encompassing.
