And when it comes to Chinese consumers, they buy the foreign cars because of the brand not the actual quality.
And when it comes to Chinese consumers, they buy the foreign cars because of the brand not the actual quality.
Well it tells you something when those foreign cars are made by the domestic manufacturers of domestic brands.
Most car made in China are made by foreign brands
I do not thik Chinese car manufacturers are doing something wrong, but i do not think they are particularly special, most emerging markets do follow similar strategies.
See Marcopolo from Brazil, today they are a relatively small company, but they are the third largest coach maker in the world, today they have a joint venture with TATA in India,
Today they manufacture buses in Argentina, Russia, Mexico, India, Portugal and South Africa and of course Brazil, without quality they won`t remain competitive in any maket including the Brazilian one

Today the largest coach factory in the world is in India and is owned by Marcopolo from Brazil and Tata from India
I think what you know about China is only from news and media soundbites. The picture on the ground is quite different.
For example, did you know that most of the assembly plants of those "foreign" car makers are jointly owned by themselves and Chinese state enterprises? Volkswagon is a good example of this: .
And yes, Chinese consumers do prize brands over quality. How else do you explain Chinese buying 20,000 RMB Louis Vuitton handbags?
Not just looking at land mass but also amount of sea owned and the usefulness of the land. Also want to be looking at the countries positioning with regards to natural disasters, economic advantages e.c.t
