The War in the Ukraine

Ukrainian trenches towards Konstantinovka (village) under TOS bombardment. It looks more to me that Krasnopol are being applied.

Russians advance in Krasnogorovka. Three ex-DPR brigades are operating here, the 5th, the 110th and the 114th, the latter planted it's flag on several settlements in Avdeyevka sector. Covering them is the 238th, another ex-DPR. Despite not having the state of the art equipment from the Russian army, I regard the performance of the DPR brigades at the highest level in my opinion after all observation.

Advancement of Russian forces in the Chasiv Yar microdistrict and in the north of it. The microdistrict is being handled by the 98th VDV Division while the north is covered by the 200th Brigade from Leningrad.

TOS from the 98th VDV hits Soviet constructed five story high rises in Chasiv Yar microdistrict. These high rises are the toughest nuts to crack in any urban warfare. Commonly referred to as 'citadels'. These citadels are taking the worst of Russian firepower, FABs, ODABs, UMPBs, TOS, X-38MLs, Krasnopols, 240mm mortars, 152mm shells, etc,.

This T-64BV in the Kharkhiv front gets hit by an FPV drone in the rear, slows down to a stop via damage and gets hit again and again till it's knocked out. There's interference coming out from the tank that points to EW, which doesn't stop the Russian FPV drones.

PZH-2000 taken out in Kherson. It's location was revealed by pro-Russian Ukrainian partisans.

Ukraine's energy system is disintegrating, this is a serious problem that Ukrainians will have to live with in the coming years, as the country's energy system was and continues to be damaged during the war.

It should be noted that to at least minimally satisfy energy needs, the authorities in Ukraine now need to carry out repair and restoration work, and this takes into account the fact that power cuts will continue.

The next task is to restore affected energy facilities, mainly production, whenever possible (and in most cases it is impossible).

And this will continue for the next year or two. And in the future, the task is to build new energy generation, because already today a number of generation facilities cannot be restored, not only because they were hit by aerial bombings, but also because they were so obsolete that they were dying.

Therefore, there is no point in restoring anything there, they need to build something new and this physically obsolete thermal generation in Ukraine was more than 80%. And the issue of building new production capacities is a case that will take at least 5 years to resolve (we are talking about production deviations necessary in the current circumstances - thermal and hydroelectric energy).

As a result, in the coming years it will be much more profitable and safer for Ukrainians, however strange it may sound, to live near one of the remaining nuclear power plants.

The authorities themselves have already said that there will be power cuts of 5 to 6 hours, which could increase due to the disintegration and collapse of the energy system, this will get even worse in the winter and if the Russians are really going to start aggressively bombing the energy system in the fall, the Ukrainians will face serious energy problems in winter.

In addition to the fact that drone wars actually began in Ukraine, cases of soldiers being taken prisoner when threatened with a drone attack began to be noted. Footage of the surrender of several soldiers of the Ukrainian reconnaissance sabotage group in the Zaporozhye direction has been published. It is worth noting that, apart from cartridges with a mesh for shotguns, nothing has been invented to destroy drones at close range.

Ukrainians were trying to use portable power generators, hence the Russians bombed the fuel facilities around several areas, Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk among them.

At first I thought the Russians bombed the huge fuel facility near the airfield in Kiev to prevent the use of aircraft, but it's seems it's really now more about denying fuel for these power generators.

The whole of Ukrainian society is now headed to a point it cannot function.

if Russia attack NATO assets like UAV, do you think NATO would escalate the conflict?

They already done that with one Predator and apparently several US UAV's during Syrian conflict. I guess it's case-by case basis.

There is no reason why Russians cant attack Global Hawk UAV's patrolling the Black Sea unless there are certain deals done in the dark.

I doubt it. Too much risk of further escalation.

The way the US operates those drones seems like they are largely viewed as "disposable". Domestically nobody seems to really care when they are shot down, so there is little internal political pressure to react.

I believe that Russia does not have the right to shoot down any type of object over international maritime waters. Even more so when Russia has not even declared war against Ukraine. The interception would occur without any legal basis from the Russians, this would be a very big escalation, but there are methods to make this more diplomatically comfortable.
