Those European countries must be getting real desperate. Pretty soon NATO will send all its working tanks to Ukraine and have none left for themselves. It was retarded to send in the Leopard 2 to Ukraine. Continental Europe leaders are dolts. The UK sent like a dozen of Challenger 2 tanks and it was enough for them to send dozens of Leopard 2 to Ukraine. They are sending tanks they need for their own defense, and will likely end up buying old US tanks and other crap at massively inflated prices.
It will be interesting to see how many tanks are actually functioning in NATO compared to how many are on the books.
Assuming most NATO tanks are somewhat functional or in need of minor overhaul, your still looking at a pool nearly 10,000 deep. It will take a long time to drain it.
The truth is a lot of tanks were either exported, or are in no condition to be used. Depending on the country from 50% to 100% of all Leopard 2 tanks they have are actually in storage. And speed to refurbish a tank from storage condition is dismal. Try reading about Polish Leopard 2PL program. As for getting to the numbers you are talking about, 10,000 tanks, you are talking about Leopard 1/AMX-30/M-60 tanks which are basically a T-62 equivalent. Most are in even worse condition.

The Poles cannot even upgrade a dozen tanks a year yet.

Big numbers of AFU POWs lately
40 mm on the roof of the turret, and the turret is 3x or more times bigger than T-series tanks, seems like a nice target for civilian drone strikes with a small, vertically launched hollow charge.
The only conceivable near term Enemy for European countries is Russia. The Tanks are being used for what they were designed and purchased for - fighting a Russian invasion.. If that can be done without losing your own soldiers or infrastructure even better as long as the Ukrainian's are using them somewhat effective.
And what exactly makes you think that if they give all their tanks to Ukraine, that Russia won't eventually decide to directly strike the rear where the supply lines into Ukraine are? Poland already gave Ukraine like 200 tanks. And no, they did not get anywhere close to 200 tanks from somewhere else to replace the ones they gave Ukraine yet.
