good article here about the current Argentina political situation & its dealings with China and Yuan. In general, I do cheer for the current govt to do better and win the election. Not just because I like Argentina, but also because I think they will be the most likely to have a more independent foreign policy and engagement with China.

And if Massa does win this election, he will have in some part to thank China for rescuing Argentinian economy out of the abyss right before the election.

Looks like Argentina has successfully renegotiated its debt with IMF with China's support.

Looks like UAP line or trans-Afghanistan line is happening

idea pretty simple. building rail across afghanistan to connect to Pakistan on one end and uzbekistan on other end. Gets you directly through kazakhstan to russia or China

keep in mind that China also has the CKU line been in discussion forever and hopefully it starts construction soon, but I'm not a fan of trying to build directly line from XJ into Gwadar


terrain is not great

they already have multi-modal right now from China to Afghanistan as described here. With full CKU rail, this will get a lot easier

Rajin could become a “logistics hub” if it is linked into the Trans-Siberian Railway. Already, there is a railway connecting Russia and North Korea via the crossing at the Tumen River to reach the port at Rajin (as per a 2008 agreement signed between the railways of the two countries.



A Special Economic Zone in Ranjin dovetails on the one hand into the the Arctic shipping network while on the other hand, falls squarely within the group of ports in Northeast Asia at which ships transiting the Norther Sea Route could arrive at or depart, three of whom — Busan, Qingdao, and Tianjin — also being the world’s top 10 busiest container ports.

To really turn Rajin into a logistics hub would likely require massive changes to the political situation on the Korean Peninsula.

I wonder what they will try to sell to the emiratis here? But generally, big deal imo. If J-10C or J-16 can kick Rafale's ass. It will show UAE who has the best hardware. May the Saudis come after this

Sir I think the Gulf State and the Saudis are interested in J35 land version.

Is China allowed to sell J-16s? Is the restriction on the exporting of Sino Flankers lifted?

The Russians have been trying to sell their 5th gens to the UAE for a long time.
First they tried to sell them the Su-57, then it was the Su-75.
I heard talk back then about sales of the Chinese FC-31 as well.

I doubt the UAE would buy anything not 5th gen.

From recent indian issues in SCO, I hope any countries will not be stupid enough to support turkey membership.
I think next membership India and Iran will try to make Armenia in and Pakistan will try to make turkey and Azerbaijan in as an exchange. China should change it Saudis and Nepal membership as compensation to Pakistan.

i don't think you are understanding my point. If you showcase J-10C & J-16, UAE will see first hand what your non-stealth aircraft are capable of. If even your non-stealth aircraft is cooking their Rafale, then how good will your stealth aircraft be?

Aside from that, you can try to sell more drones, AWACS, tankers & such.



more on building friendly countries. Jokowi has generally been very pro-China and it shows in the favorability of China in Indonesia. Now that he is stepping aside, trying to help with successor to win the next election. It's good when he comes to China for visit, there is always things he can secure. Now longer term, getting Indonesia to buy Chinese weapons is probably the best way to secure this relationship.
