Can someone please enlighten the non-readers of Chinese what this display says?
Just based on the picture can this sub launch torpedoes, SAMs, ICBMs, and cruise missiles?

From what I can make out from the blurry words:
Test sub program was established in January 2005
Launched September 2010
Completed test run September 2012
Handed over 16th October 2012

Double hull
length 92.6m

Does anyone suspect that this may be a testbed for the technologies on the 095 or 096? It would also make sense for the hull itself to be a proof of concept for the next generation SSK.

This sub will be used to test JL-2, JL-2A, vertical launch CJ-10B, CJ-20A, YJ-18.
Submarine launched, fiber optic guided SAM. New heat powered torpedo, unmanned underwater vehicle, escape pod/hatch, and underwater transport vehicle for special forces.
I'm thinking, whether a smaller conventional version of the virginia class role sub may be possible/applicable for use for waters/countries neighbouring china.

It's primary role is to test sub-launched weapons - SLCM, SLBM, torpedos...just those alone will take up a lot of its operational schedules, so it won't be reasonable to afford further downtime to load and test other stuff.

No one seems to have mentioned it is Type 032 pennant number 201.
It has long been obvious that it was the replacement for the GOLF class, Type 031 pt.no. 200 at Xiaopingdao Submarine Test Base.
