Guys, I heard this really wild rumor (apparently this was discussed on CD), but want your opinion.

1. The Type 094 as well see it are actually Type 092G

2. The real Type 094 has no hump and carries 16 SLBMs. It has been seen on a footage but was deleted later.

3. There are four real Type 094s being built.

Any thoughts? Apparently "military insiders" confirmed this information.

Have you got the photos of 092G and the real 094 ?

One thing I don;t get from that article is...
even if PLA operates ww2 vintage noisy diesel boats.

during transit there is no real difference noise wise between a modern diesel electric boat and a ww2 diesel electric boat. both use a snorkel and are extremely noisy.

and during much of positioning at a specific location the boat rarely uses main motor.

its basically a quiet metal can sitting in water.

unless asw assets go active there is no real way to tell.

Hey,

4th Type 094 was launched 4th quarter this year from Bohai Shipyard.

Just saw that on some internet traffic.

consider this an i.e. English-language-Websphere exclusive.

Apparently those you see aren't Type 094. They are Type 092G.

The Type 094 does not have humps and so far 4 has been launched.

I agree, for this reason you can upgrade the old tin cans with guided missiles, instead of torpedoes (it's the thing submariners currently fashion), and give them a swimming buoy for real time information on targets by aerial/space reconnaisance (forget the claims that space assets will be killed, they will move and broadcast like modern artillery). Because of the missiles these platforms don't have to swim, but just press the button. Very useful are the old subs if you combine them with modern naval mines that take out approaching targets, so you can get a bit noisy and lure your enemy into a small state-of-the-art minefield with supercaviatating torpedoes and guided missiles that even take out helicopters. Alternatively, you can replace the minefield with a really quiet modern submarine and go fishing for someone who stalks your jukebox.
All in all, an old noisy submarine is still a valueable asset.

Wonder , how much of you with this "chinese navy submarine are noisy" , have ever been in submarine , or have any hydroacustic backgrounds to support this theory ....... except "Big mighty US Navy Patriotism" ....... Oceans and sea are very wild places , ocean dephts are earth unexplored space , and mariners or seamans are brave people , nor only technology prevails in the sea ........ you need to have same broder knowledge ....... for example ........ where is papua new guinea , how much one feet or fathom have meters , how to reduce your propeller noise in varible sea conditions .....an so on , and so on ..... real life is not PC game or US news propaganda.
