There are two stacks, one on each side of the deck house.
Yes, but I'm expecting the second exhaust to be from the other stack rather than both of them on the same stack.

Wait, I'm not sure if we're all on the same page here -- are you talking about the smoke stacks of 901?
Because isn't it quite clear that there are two smoke stacks arranged in a line at the aft of the ship, each with two visible silver exhausts?

And this is a picture of the forward smoke stack (distinctive due to the addition of a mast which the aft smoke stack lacks), where we can see two distinctive silver exhausts arranged in a row. The aft smoke stack almost will definitely have the same silver exhausts.

Given the size of the smoke stack, as well as what we know about the ship's size, intended mission, and the available powerplants for the Chinese Navy, I think it is almost definitely four 28MW QC280 gas turbines arranged in COGAG, similar to the Supply class AOE... one difference between the arrangement of the Supply class smoke stacks and the 901 class, is that 901 class seem to be perfectly aligned in the centre (more similar to that of the Burke class DDG) whereas the Supply class have them both slightly offset (which is reminiscent of the Spruance class DDG and Tico class CG)

May not be too similar. From what we can see of 055's smoke stack superstructure, it is a single structure rather than two like on 901. Just because the propulsion will be the same (4 QC280 in COGAG) does not mean the arrangement of the exhausts will be the same. Spruance/Tico, burke, supply class, etc, all have the same four LM2500s in COGAG but all have different exhaust arrangements.

The superstructure/bridge of 901 also looks nothing like the 055 mock up.

Now that is a stunning replenishment tanker !! Wow just wow

I love the bridge it sits high and above, massive stations with a even massive rear storage area in the hanger

This is a true blue water long range long duration tanker for carrier resupply

Carrying water, aviation fuel, maritime fuel, dry stores, weapons and ammunition

I wish the Type 071 LPD had a similar bridge, the bridge on the LPD sits too low for my liking it should have been higher

Imagine the Type 901 resupplying two x Type 071 LPD on a anti piracy mission

I would like to see 901 using a combined cycle power plant for propulsion, i.e. using the waste heat from the gas turbines to power a steam turbine. I hope besides the 4 gas turbines, may be we can see additional 2 steam turbines.

I was at one time involved in a power plant project with 6 gas turbines + 3 steam turbines. Waste heat from two gas turbines are used to power one steam turbine.

This way, additional power can be generated with-out using additional fuel. And there may be improved power to weight ratio as well as reducing temperature of gas turbine waste gas from the exhaust duct thus cutting down its heat signature.

The problem is space. HRSG take a lot of room because the feed heater, economizer and evaporator have to be in the same duct. Then you have the steam turbine and the condenser must right underneath it. Not counting the lube system, water treatment and other accessories. It is no problem for civilian power generation on the ground But inside the ship space is premium!

Plus the Gas Turbine is used as a peaker or power on demand. The small gas turbine has poor efficiency LM 2500 is the best but still at 27 or 28% the same as diesel engine
