we have not seen new tankers under construction for a while so this is welcoming news
The photo quote-posted above was taken only two months prior to the photo below, which was taken just recently. Posted by the same guy on Weibo.
Also seen in the photo is the 3rd unit of the Type 927 integrated rescue ship and the 2nd/3rd unit of the Type 920 hospital ship.
Seems like Chinese shipyards could spam a couple tens of such ships at a short notice, which will definitely be a great boost for the PLAN's blue water ambitions in the coming years and decades.
@水雷屋 on Weibo also observed that the bridge of the new-built Type 903A AOR extends to both edges of the main superstructure (bottom, 1st), which is wider compared to previous ships of the class (bottom, 2nd) and somewhat mirrors the bridge of the larger Type 901 AOE (bottom, 3rd).
