View attachment 20831 The blue box is the part of the flight deck, which is already built. The blue lines are possible catapult tracks. One can not see the cuts for a catapult now.

Yes I did think about that but I was more thinking of a double cats at the waist judging by the size it's not a Charles de Gul sized carrier which could do with a single cat at waist

I like these pictures they are very good and it shows the rate of progress they plan for this carrier
Driving past Queen Elizabeth every week and now the Prince of Wales I can be sure the tempo of operations on this unit is much much faster
They are in shape with the modules here well synchronised and co ordinated
This is good carrier building, let's remember up till now China has never ever built a aircraft carrier this is the first time and they are doing it like it's the 10th time
I am impressed by the work load and share cranes in place and organised
Very professionally done and I think progress is going to be fast on this one maybe even the fastest we have seen in recent years

Very soon we will read some medias reporting this is due to a copycat and cyber theft :p

A second catapult on the angled deck takes from the limited space, which is marked for parking aircraft. Not a good idea.

It's not about 'great China' you're writing about but about how much it costs. If RN had the money that China is able to throw in you would have seen much faster pace in case of RN. Especially when it comes to 'special engineering' that you use while making up more complex maritime projects. It's all about money. RN and JMSDF work on cramped budget everyday and they try to keep an edge with that doing the right job. Tempo is all about money. Not sophisticated capabilities. It's all about being steady with your expenses and planning. Fast pace doesn't mean quality right now. PLAN will face the same problems sooner or later. It;s not right now but those times will come.

Would you like some peanut butter with that jelly?

But joking aside, if one seriously wants to consider this, one does need to consider the money that both sides are throwing at their carrier projects, but also at the production advantages and disadvantages that both sides may have which might shorten or prolong the construction time, or increase or reduce cost...

I'm not any kind of expert on the shipbuilding industry, but it's not inconceivable that the Chinese shipbuilding industry does have certain advantages which may help to lower production/programme cost and/or construction time, compared to other countries, for producing a similar product.

faster mean cheaper .. longer means more expensive! as simple as that
It is not only about money (even its a big part), its management, discipline and hard work, you should give a credit to whoever deserve it ... in this case its the Chinese ... I'd bet the Chinese carrier would cost much lower than the British

Sorry, but I reckon Chinese construction technology and project management are already top world class ... nobody can deny that. Facts/actions speak louder than words

With all due respect ... ...

IMHO, ... ...

The belief -- ( "It's all about money" ) is a clear example of a backward Zero--Sum--mindset.

>>> (REMOVED) <<<

Don't forget, ... ... PRC was an extremely backward and a dirt poor nation, before DENG Xiao Ping implemented his super wise national directive.

In the year 1978, DENG Xiao Ping declared that PRC will quadruple their GDP by the year 2000.

At that time, 99% of western pundits think that DENG was boasting.

And then, before the year 2000 arrives, PRC had already quadrupled their GDP.

Fast forward to today, ... ...

In summary, PRC Industrial power has reached this amazing level is because of one super wise basic guiding motto.

The motto is ( Continuous--and--Never--Ending--Improvement--Scientifically ) on everything.

This PRC industrial prowess is just the beginning, in the launching stage.

Nothing to brag about yet. ... ... As in nothing to brag about their present 2015,
global ranking #1 GDP either.
