Well, to be fair, I only indicated that China would be the only one outside of the US to produce a carrier force in those numbers.

France has a nuclear CATOBAR carrier that they built. They are capable of building both types.

India is going to have both types STOBAR and CATOBAR, and they will have built both types themselves. Probably in the same time frame as China. They already launched their 1st indigenous STOBAR carrier, a couple of years ahead of China. But India plans only a total of three...not six like we expect to see from China.

The UK is capable of building both, but will only have the two, large STOBAR carriers.

Brazil has a CATOBAR carrier...but France built it, used it for over 30 years, and then sold it to them. Brazil is talking about building a couple.

Russia could...but does not have the funds.

I imagine if they wanted to, Japan could. They have four very modern and very decent VTOL carriers...but that's not the same as large, full deck CATOBAR carriers.

The US has the money and the will and the capability to build numerous full deck carriers...and have done so.

China has the money and the will and the capability to build numerous full deck carriers...and they are doing so.

Jeff, i dont know if i agree with you. How many countries have the tech to build a aircraft catapult? Charles de Gaulle carrier uses US catapults, india´s catobar will use US catapults. I dont know if russia has the tech (leftover from the soviet ulyanovsk program ?). What about the others?

I think all of those countries have the capability to develop catapults indigenously, it's just that they don't have to, because they are on good terms with the US and can buy them cheaper directly from the US.

It's similar to the AEW&C/AWACS issue. France and Britain obviously had the capability to develop their own AWACS, but they decided to procure E-3s from the US instead when they needed them, and I believe part of the reason is because it was already available, and they wouldn't have to pay for their own development costs and thus would be cheaper.

Catapults are not magical technology that require the most state of the art engineering and science. Most developed countries probably have all the technological know how and capability to put a catapult together if they chose to.

well that's the issue why is it synonymous doesn't make any sense what so ever

It's like saying US is represented by California state alone just because it's the biggest economy

UK is made up of Northern Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland each state alone doesn't represent the former but the former does represent the latter

Anyway that was the point I am making
Yes...understood. And I fixed the earlier post accordingly.

Let's get back on topic with the PLAN Carrier Program.

Discussions about war scenarios between the US, Russia, China, and others are against SD Rulese, even when thinly veiled as "hypothetical."

Other forums allow that...or you can go to PPM between yourselves.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MODERATION.

From fzgfzy 001A progress, looks like another 1-2 big hangar modules added and some extra support in the front.

I like these pictures they are very good and it shows the rate of progress they plan for this carrier

Driving past Queen Elizabeth every week and now the Prince of Wales I can be sure the tempo of operations on this unit is much much faster

They are in shape with the modules here well synchronised and co ordinated

This is good carrier building, let's remember up till now China has never ever built a aircraft carrier this is the first time and they are doing it like it's the 10th time

I am impressed by the work load and share cranes in place and organised

Very professionally done and I think progress is going to be fast on this one maybe even the fastest we have seen in recent years
