It isn't impossible for them to have shifted from building civilian ship components to military, so I wouldn't use google earth pictures from over half a year ago as a basis for my main argument.

Rather, I'd say that physically, the structure we see right now is completely dissimilar to anything like what we'd expect from a carrier when the structure is that big already.
More importantly, we haven't had any rumours or ground-taken-pictures of 002 being at a stage of construction at JN where such a structure would already be visible.

Not every single unidentified new hull or structure is a carrier... the only reason we were so confident about DL's hull being a carrier back when the first few modules appeared is because it looked right, but more importantly it was because of the substantial noise coming from the Chinese boards suggesting we finally were seeing 001A. There is nothing like that for JN's 002 as of yet.

Yep it's possible the cover is to build modules for the carrier inside out of sight, but it's also possible that it isn't anything related to the carrier -- no rumours to suggest or work off from means we're just shooting blindly in the dark.

Personally at this stage I'd say there's no reason for us to claim that any activity at JN that we can see is related to the carrier. They might have begun early fabrication of some modules, but we wouldn't be able to recognize it right now even if we saw it.
Let's wait and see for rumours.

hard to believe this is merely a coincidence that Asahi Shimbun declared only yesterday the second Chinese indigenous carrier is under construction at JNCX, and we saw these two "fly-by" photos of JNCX today without a trace of the carrier.

The entire structure with the walls and the curved roof seems like a solid structure rather than any kind of ship.
The structure looks nothing like the hull of even a cargo ship, let alone a carrier.

Actually, I was meant to said the wall structure is a building with roof to keep something being built inside it away from the eyes of public. The structure itself could not possibly be a ship unless it is a super large size barge, which is of course very un-likely.

Most likely it's just a large storage warehouse to store parts, metals,and other equipment for ship building. Those three vertical band seems to be openings for doors. Bottom line it's not big or high enough to hide carrier for indoor construction. Plus if one is doing indoor construction you are going to need to have a lot of ventilation.

Not really, it has nothing to do with the bet and more to do with simply the existence and/or progress of 002 overall.

Regarding the bet, 001A at DL is pretty much confirmed, and is just a matter of time until everyone agrees on visual confirmation. Even if confirmation of 001A occurs after Septermber 2016, the fact that work on it was visible early this year means the "single carrier" group can get a draw at best.
Visual confirmation of 002 might only occur post 2020, so the conclusion of the bet might only occur by 2022 or '23 at latest... so getting hung up on something for seven or eight years is a poor use of energy.

We probably won't need to wait until 2022 to see 002 take shape (assuming that steel cutting has started). The 001A was begun in 2013 and rumor has it that much of the hull should be completed by 2016.
