Ahem.. the record for consecutive days at sea by a conventionality powered carrier is held by the Mighty FID..Forrestal. First In Defense.

No need for any ship to spend that many consecutive days at sea...really.
Yes, that was 108 days straight at sea...but even with the visit to Naples, she was still deployed and so would be considered to be on operational duty.

I was talking about her time on rotaion, not deployed, in port, docked for training, maintenance, etc. vs. her time deployed. At least those are the numbers I am talking about.

So, if the Nimitz is deployed to the Indian Ocean or Med for six months, I count her time from when she leaves home to when she gets back...even though during those six months it is likely she will make 3-4 port calls in her AO.

True..

In 1980 IKE made a 9 month MED/IO deployment with ONE port visit to Singapore for 5 days.

What IKE accomplished in 1980.

No need for the PLAN to spend this much time at sea deployed or otherwise. I'd like to see CV-16 step up her operational tempo. Soon I hope more J-15s will arrive.
