One of my buddies visited Yasukuni Shrine many years ago. The descriptions of the Japanese actions in WWII are total whitewash. The Japs played stupid word games like they “entered” China instead of “invaded”. You can find more examples on Chinese internet.

On top of the whitewashing, i believe humanizing the people of an institution has the effect of lessening the crimes committed by the institution.
Yes indeed -the Japanese will ALWAYS portray themselves as a valiant foe against a technologically superior and relentless enemy America-never mentioning the Japanese savage and brutal aggression against China in particular-in those museums what is unsaid and unspoken let alone the euphemisms for wholesale attack, rape, murder ,looting, slavery, inhuman experiments etc makes me vomit-every August 6-August 9 I have my personal little teppenyaki BBQ and toast Enola Gay and Bock's Car-wish third city Kokura(?)was vaporized.

Indians really are something. Like they talk crap about ping pong and badminton. Yet why did their 2024 flag bearers come from these sports? Because it's these two "unknown sports" that they have a chance of actually getting medals. Without badminton, in 2016 India would have 1 (one) bronze medal only. They are not in a position to be choosing.

It pisses me off. They think they are the same as western whites yet have done nothing to take away any medals from them because they just have no chance in those sports. You're not going to see Indians take medals in swimming, cycling , canoeing or horse riding. They spend more effort trying to take medals from asian sports they crap on. As far as I'm concerned, they are just tools for the west where they try to take medals from China since they have no chance of taking it from the west. People call HK a bunch western worshippers but they literally took away two golds from the west in fencing which made them seethe like hell.
Still reading the fallout from olympics-these Indian are totally deluded and this crap is from their "educated" class. Superpower ?...no- more like Sewerpower.

Yeah, you tend to walk past a random shrine in Japan that looks great, 5 star reviews on google all round by Western tourists who don't speak the language, go inside and see a bunch of war glorification stuff. Happened to me in Tokyo and I never walked out of anything faster. Japanese in general seem to be apathetic to WW2 history, allowing the right-wing elements to sneak in stuff like that all over the country with no pushback.

Here is a viewpoint: although Japan was defeated, everything in Japan has not changed. The role of the Mikado and the Military department(Gunbu) was replaced by the Americans.
For the Japanese, this is the "Meiji Restoration" of the new era, where the Anglo Japanese alliance became the US Japan alliance, and everything is not much different from the past.
Therefore, their worship of the Mikado has turned into worship of the United States, and their understanding of international politics is more like a religion based on blind worship of liberalism(opinions in the comment section).

Because they have never changed, they are essentially no different from the past.

Twenty20 cricket is a new inclusion for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. India are the reigning T20 World Cup champions and are good prospects to pick up a medal there. While hoping for a respectable performance from my own nation, it would be wonderful to see Olympic medal-starved nations like Afghanistan or Bangladesh on the podium for cricket.

Looks like US embassy to China tried to PS image of Global Times removing the swimmer doping article…

To quote a former president — “They are not sending their best. They are not sending you. They are sending people with lots of problems.”

US embassy staffers are too dumb to compete with Chinese netizens. They replaced the last "L" with a "1" then tried to fool the Chinese in believing Global Times took down that article :p

Moving on, I wanna talk about a somewhat tragic character in ping pong, Japan's Kasumi Ishikawa. Of the non-Chinese players, she's my favorite by far. She's beautiful, trained in China with fluent Chinese, and was ranked as high as 3rd at the peak of her career, holding down the position of Captain of the Japanese Women's Team. Her nickname is the Pure Girl because of her crisp and innocent expressions. She's 30 now and retired after failing to qualify for Paris. She's very popular in Japan and China and has many sponsorships and gigs so everything actually looks great for her life and future... except for one thing: she loves Ma Long.

She has said that she always admired his prowess as a fan, but when she first laid eyes on him in person, she was awestruck by how handsome and cool he was. However as fortune would have it, Ma Long had a steady girlfriend, whom he would come to marry and have a son with. After Kasumi's retirement, Japanese TV shows interviewed her asking if she is ready for dating and marriage. She said sure, and she has many suitors but she thinks it will be hard for her because eversince she was in elementary school, playing ping pong at an elite level has made her naturally look for others' weaknesses while hiding her own. She says this trait is highly unsuitable for a relationship. For Paris, she came to see Ma Long train and win his last gold medal. When she went to see him afterwards to give him a congratulatory pin which she gave to every Chinese ping pong team member, he accepted it and left with a gleeful smile as that between great friends. But her expression on camera turned to that of sadness for several moments after he was gone. How is this girl to get married? What man, who can meet the standards of a rich and beautiful celebrity who was also a table tennis champion and 3 time Olympic medalist, can tolerate marrying a woman known as the lady who loves Ma Long? What a story it would have been if the Captain of China's Table Tennis Men's Team married the Captain of Japan's Table Tennis Women's team...

I'm working hard to improve my table tennis skills. I'm married now but who knows....
