I'm not worried at all about a denied visa; that makes the US look like scared losers. I'm worried about them letting the Chinese swimmers through, then planting drugs or child porn on them and arresting them.

WADA lists Cocaine as a substance that is Prohibited In-Competition (the International Hockey Federation appears to use the WADA prohibited list without amendment). The athlete in question was arrested August 6th and his final match of the games took place August 4th. So this would not appear to qualify as a potential doping violation.

From the WADA Code:

In-Competition: The period commencing at 11:59 p.m. on the day before a Competition in which the Athlete is scheduled to participate through the end of such Competition and the Sample collection process related to such Competition.

Yeah, beat the silver medalist team USA by over 80 fuckin' points! They could have used me in the last rotation and they would have still won. I just wanna see a close competition where China wins. Why do we always lose by a mm or win by a km? I wanna see China eek out a gold medal like the US eeked out a gold medal from Jamaica in the 100 meter by 0.005 seconds.

It's only dangerous if Hou is off. If her snatch is representative that she's not strong today, there could be trouble. But if it's just some jitters that can be overcome, then it's no problem. Her clean and jerk is like 10kg higher than the Romanian's if everything goes right and the clean and jerk is a much more stable and dependable lift than the snatch.

We do have to watch out for the Indian though. She's just 1kg below Hou in the snatch and her clean and jerk is on par with Hou's. Except that was a few years ago and due to injury, her clean and jerk has not demonstrably recovered.
