Intuitive and easy to drive. Has all the features you need and none you don't. One of the cheapest EVs you can get, but does not feel cheap. Very very good value for money.

That's what I've been reading about a lot of Chinese cars like BYD, Haval, etc. Premium features but not premium cost, making you wonder how much the established players have been fleecing customers.

Established ICE companies will not be able to compete long term. Mercedes/BMW are offering (imo) inferior products at 250-350k range. After driving a BYD I do not want to go back to a traditional ICE layout... the touch screen is just so easy to use. These companies are going to get destroyed in the long run.

Even Tesla's model y (250k) and 3 (>200k) cannot really hang with Atto 3 (170k).

If you are wondering why the prices are so high, it's because the singapore government taxes vehicles at a ridiculous rate.

Personal experience with EV
Bought a ORA black cat early 2021 (350KM per charge) the car cost 63000 RMB (9000 USD approx.). My driving routin is approal 80KM for at least 3 times per week. Approx. 1000KM per month.
Local fuel price is 1.16 USD/L(8RMB/L). My ICE car cost approxal 10L/ 100KM. So fuel cost is roughly 1000-1500RMB per month (150-200 USD)
Local electricity price is 0.51RMB/kWh (0.074 USD/kWh) . Fully charge 350KM NEDC cost 35kWh and 80KM drive cost 100+KM NEDC
So 1-2 charge per week. Cost drop down to 200-250 RMB / month (30-40 USD).
Pros and cons for EV

My one is just grocery car so I didn`t expect it to be very fast. highway cruising speed is 90KM. I drive it to 100 but it start to drink electricity really fast
Really not tough like ICE car. I hit a roadside shoulder and it break one tire suspension.
Is not like ICE car, most of the EV components are modules, u break one u have to change it. No chance of repair.

The good side is dirty cheap and u need almost zero maintenance. In fact dealer want to sell me a once in for all maintenance and repair package cause they see no profit for maintenance. Also small car is easy to park to turn in an urban area compare to 3 meters wheelbase sedan. In fact somtimes I drive it I just don`t have the feeling of drving car is just like riding a E-bike.

I think we gonna make them like cellphone nowadays.

More on Byd's progress, this is reported on a Chinese newspaper. Seems a little optimistic. I would put this at why high end of expectations. Likely, the numbers will be lower than this.
Currently, on it's way to achieving 200k a month. The goal is to reach 280k by December (seems a lot more aggressive than I expected). Has over 700k orders and will collect more a lot more orders in Nov/Dec. Next year, estimated to produce over 4 million cars and reach battery production of over 300 GWh. Semiconductor, electric motor and electric control component control will all see production rise proportionally.

China's consumption of Internet through phone and 5G contribute a lot to their adaptation of EVs and AVs.

I don't necessarily agree with this with regard to BYD reputation. However if Toyota doesn't do where on BZ3, it's future in China is in real trouble.
