A plot in paradise and India’s struggle for influence in Asia

Secret contacts between Indian agents and politicians in the Maldives over ousting its pro-China leader reflect the growing contest between Asia’s great powers.

Loincloth imperialists ending 2024 with massive Ls. I know we poke fun at Iranian OPSEC, but Indian OPSEC is a complete joke.
India really loves Mafia style tactics huh?

I bet one of their underlings probably blurted their plan out openly coz arrogance really is something.

Chinese President Xi Jinping was reportedly dismissive about the threat of deflation hitting the economy. While consumers can benefit from falling prices, persistent deflation can also lead to a downward spiral for spending and investment.
China is investing too much in manufacturing which will lead to a downward spiral in investment, China need to invest less to increase investment. lol

. If people in the US can't get that through their heads then TSMC Arizona dream is doomed to fail.
Is not going to be "A day in my life working in TSMC" When someone is going to spend their day drinking lattes and eating from the company cafeteria while going to times a day to a meeting.

What US techies think working at TSMC would be:

China Shock 2.0... It is a fast and, IMHO, an informative read.

Adam Tooz, while an European historian, readily pointed out the angst all over the Europe (especially Germany ) because of the current and inevitable China encroachment into the higher value tech (Cars, green tech...etc) where Europe had, until very recently, occupied. He is also worried about the warring posture the US has taken since around 2010. Ominously he says the political pieces for a nuclear war are falling into place in the US. I also see that and it is indeed worrying.
Adam Tooz is famous for his economic analysis of Nazi Germany. He knows all about fascism.

The sanctity of free trade must be defended by CHAD and hypersonic missiles.

China too is readying for a nuclear war. Buried in a lot of regular details, it was revealed that the main ICBM defense (hq-19) is also capable of HGV interception. Which means it is no ordinary Arrow-3 generation interceptor.

They don't gain anything from initiating nuclear war, but they're ready to win it if it goes off.

Like I've said on the nuclear threat, US is mostly a nuclear paper tiger, because they need to bomb much of the whole world in order to feel secure in a MAD strike, which in my view they have not reached that threshold in a long time. But if they modernize their weapons, that equation could change. China must create better and more defenses to neutralise the gains US gets from modernization.

If US needs all it's nukes to ensure China is destroyed, they will never use nukes (besides if you like try to annex the whole US and start genociding them).

Had to share this
Marco Rubio on china

He says, and I quote, "I hate the Communist party of China okay, I think they are evil, but from a Chinese perspective, they (sic) are acting in the national interest of china and they are doing what we would do if we were in their position "

So he basically admitted that the US Govt is evil as well! Lol I literally laughed out loud.

I know the news of Jimmy Carter's passing is known by now, but I didn't know just how awesome he was.

He selflessly went into a nuclear reactor to repair it after being told he would never have children if he did. He had radioactive urine for months afterwards. Thankfully he was able to make a full recovery, have kids and live a long life.

He was brave not just in a physical sense but also morally (see his early critique of Zionism). I agree with those who said that he was the last decent US president.
Carter also-to my surprise-never sat on ANY corporate boards, like even our late PM Mulroney as he said he "didn't want to sell his presidency" but at a very tumultuous time in history perhaps he didn't have the necessary ruthless "iron" perhaps to deal with the Iranian mullahs and get hostages back.A patriot, truly decent, brave man,good/faithful husband and father-not just a prepared, sanitized image for public consumption-I greatly respect him. Also didn't he host DengXiaoPeng in America ?
