I'm sure people like you aren't, but I'm more curious about the general public in Philippines. The polls/interviews I've seen done by many sides are a bit biased for me.

Filipinos have a very warped perception of geopolitics, partly due to the strong influence of American propaganda. Of course the reason the government lets American influence run rampant in the country is because the elites who call the shots are American-educated compradors. I dont know if these elites truly believe Americans can and would run to their defense if it escalates to that point, but the general public has been fooled into believing this. Most of these people still subscribe to the belief that China does not have the military to challenge the US, and believe China can still be cowed. I fear the only way my countrymen will ever unsubscribe to that idea is if they FAFO.

Filipinos are so religious and not even in a good way, since most of the practices they perform aren't even found in the Christian Bible. Not to mention I find them to be very superstitious as well which in itself very contradictory and antithetical to their faith.
Most Pinoys aren't into science and technology focused studies but rather too siloed on one subject which is English since most believe that's their ticket for leaving their country for better pastures.
The most unfortunate of all is that those Filipinos don't even really know their cultural identity or heritage since it's been mostly destroyed by their occupiers, hence they're easy to manipulate and so malleable to pro-western narrative. Most don't have an understanding or appreciation of modern warfare and the devastation it'll cause especially to their island country. Delusional people all in all with less technical capability of the Jai Hinds which make the situation in my opinion to be so unfortunate and sad to watch.
