I know this already beating no pun intended a death horse but this is a brutal transcript conversation between the CEO of Oceangate and engineer of the company. The engineer trying to convince the CEO no to do manual divings before more test are done and the CEO refusing in a really weird manner, the engineer even trying to convince him to do a remote testing downing the submarine with cable as a cheaper alternative. From an engineering perspective this is pure gold on how a person mind can go out reality when trying to do innovative stuff.

"Leak" is a pretty mild way of describing what happens if a pressure vessel lets water in at those depths.

Yeah. To the ears of the free world, China had already lost an aircraft carrier and a nuclear submarine in the last few months. China is never gonna rival the US Navy at this rate. China sucks right?

But later on, America tells everyone that China is gonna take over the world and it needs everyone's help to confront China.

Yeah, their propaganda is spinning out of control.

Even in the financial markets, the last couple of days, it has been really really weird.

The American media still tows the party line in regards to the Chinese stock market, when everything has changed in terms of policy, and what a rally so far.

If they do not believe in the policy changes, that is one thing, but to say the stock market does not like it, when it is going up like that, that is just make believe.

The American propaganda is no longer connected to reality. Not even loosely connected.

Japan Gets a New Leader Who Wants to Remake the U.S. Military Alliance

Former Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba, elected on fifth try, criticizes security treaty as unequal

TOKYO—Japan’s next leader will be a former defense minister who wants to reshape what he sees as an unequal alliance with the U.S., presaging possible tensions with Washington.
Shigeru Ishiba, 67 years old, narrowly won a vote in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party on Friday to become party leader, and the LDP-controlled parliament will meet Tuesday to elect him prime minister.
Ishiba had lost four previous runs for the leadership and had said this would be his final try. In a crowded race with nine candidates, the maverick lawmaker rose to the top with promises to mend the ruling party’s image after financial scandals. He narrowly defeated economic security minister Sanae Takaichi, 63, who would have been Japan’s first female prime minister.

He has objected to treaty restrictions limiting Japan’s access to U.S. bases and equipment, such as when a U.S. military aircraft crashes in Japan.
In his book, he proposed stationing Japanese troops permanently on U.S. soil, perhaps on the Pacific island of Guam, to make the alliance more equal. He also has advocated an Asian version of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to boost deterrence against aggressors.

Ishiba’s office is filled with some 500 books on military subjects, economic policy and history along with model warplanes. He is also known for his love of trains, boasting that he has taken the sleeper train between Tokyo and Tottori more than 1,000 times.

He mentioned his plan about stationing Japanese troops on US soil again in the post election interview.
