While I respect each country has their customs, I'm not so sure this is the best PR move by the Malaysian government. It's one thing as a private action, another if it's a government action in light of the lack of progress with the SAR.

It's great to employ spiritual means if it's got good track record and when you've tried everything else...but even if they exist, it's not quite exactly the best PR thing to do that in front of the public...even if it works like a miracle. If the audience is skeptical, this just gives people a feeling you're wasting time on less constructive efforts

Chinese satellites have tracked some debris and looks like the plane

That's what was reported by the media. Experts have said satellite images can trick you. You don't know if they're three whole pieces. I'm watching CNN where I saw the Bob Baer interview I mentioned earlier. Guess what? CNN is still talking about why China took so long to release the images despite what Bob Baer explained.

I saw the same CNN clip and it's not unusual for TV anchors to raise 'issues,' since that's what get ratings. It's less China bashing as talking heads plying their trade craft. Had it been US, UK, Germany, or any other country, the same thing would have happened. Mind you I'm not saying it's right or wrong, only that it happens.

I'm watching the discussion on TV about the Chinese possibly discovering the wreckage with their satellites. You're already seeing it being more about the missing plane. Talk about how come the Chinese took so long to release this information. I'll predict this that if turns out to be the wreckage of the missing 777, this will be the topic buzzing soon... Chinese satellites being able to find parts of a jetliner... how about an aircraft carrier?

More concerned would be the initial reaction of people fuming over the fact the Chinese withholding this information for so long.

Catching up on the posts. Concerns answered and educated. Thanks

As already mentioned, just because they took the photos a few days ago didn't mean they necessarily IDed the specific objects those days ago. I imagine there would have been a lengthy process of ruling out dozens or hundreds of items as likely candidates, as well as some delays in admin that would have prevented the photos from being put up immediately even once they IDed the possible debris.

After all it isn't like IDing an aircraft carrier.

So if anyone in the media does choose to accuse china of "withholding" information, I'd kindly laugh in their face.
