Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is Missing

CNN showed a dimensional graph of the 777. From the tip end to tip end of the horizontal stabilizers of the tail was 70ft. If one of those satellite pics turns out to be the wing section of the fuselage, it could easily be 70 by 70.

Is that debris close to where a few days ago a worker on an oil rig claimed to have seen the plane come down?

A New Zealand man working on an oil rig claimed he saw the plane "burning at high altitude."

Here's a map comparing the two points, about 240 miles apart. Since the worker said he said the plane while it was still high above the water, it's believable that the two points are reconcilable.

I read that news early this morning before the Satellite images appeared, they were initially doubting it as an hoax story since it cannot be confirmed. Now it made more sense after the images linking the two together.

As already mentioned, just because they took the photos a few days ago didn't mean they necessarily IDed the specific objects those days ago. I imagine there would have been a lengthy process of ruling out dozens or hundreds of items as likely candidates, as well as some delays in admin that would have prevented the photos from being put up immediately even once they IDed the possible debris.

After all it isn't like IDing an aircraft carrier.

So if anyone in the media does choose to accuse china of "withholding" information, I'd kindly laugh in their face.

Yep. Caught up on the readings and felt my world just got more informed.

Skepticism still doubt that the objects are wreckage of the ill-fated aircraft. I think it won't be long before we can confirm those objects. Satellite images from China are much more reliable than naked eye-sight by the Vietnamese. If this turns out to be true, I think no one on the aircraft can survive. I rather it was hijacked and landed in some hostile territory but now look like we need to hold candle lights for them.

Heres a copy of the letter sent to the various authorities a day ago by a person on a oil rig who claimed he saw the plane go down

Singapore news reported that Malaysian authorities had searched the residence of one of the pilot on that missing flight for undisclosed reason.

I hope in addition to sending a plane out to those coordinates from the satellite imagery, they send ships with sonar. Since the images are days old, no telling if the pieces (if they are of the plane) are still floating or sunk or drifted miles away since that image capture.

Gauging distance and trajectory at night visually could be inaccurate, but the direction wise could still be viable clue.

While warships in the frigate category among the SAR armada should have active bow sonar, but I don't think those are tuned to scan the sea floor for stuff, and so far only the MV Swift Rescue is the dedicated deep sea operation vessel on site, and don't know if it packed with side-scan sonar.

All things considered, Malaysian authority have done a piss-poor job so far, especially in terms of information distribution, because there're simply too many confusing reports from their own offices, and we haven't begin talking all those from other sources.
