They could also be jammed with EW as well, as stated from one of the source I sent on GPS being jammed in Ukraine, sent in the Ukraine war thread. However the article did mention that Starlink announced a "firmware update" which is supposed to solve this problem, but I'm speculating they simply switched the encryption. I wonder if those satellites can be hacked or overloaded.
First of all, any electronic jamming is limited in range and time. In theory, if you have enough energy, you can jam any means of radio communication, but we know that this is impossible.
Even GPS jammers have a certain effective range, and this range will change with the target signal strength and anti-jamming ability.
The antenna of the GPS terminal lacks directionality, which is determined by the working principle of the GPS terminal (more than 3 GPS satellites need to be connected at the same time to determine the position), which also causes it to be more susceptible to jamming. While the communication terminal's dish antenna has strong directionality and will only amplify the radio beam in a certain direction, to jam such a device you need much more energy than GPS jamming.

Good points. Well I guess China should develop some anti-satellite weaponry using microwave beams like the US is developing to fry them satellite or try to hack them. Maybe they could try one of the user's joke idea of phoning Elon Musk if he wants to keep his Tesla mega-factory in China lol

You forgot Starlink. Satellite communications are not that easy to cut off.
With Taiwan's population density and ownership of mobile smart devices, you can really experience the full range of live 24/7 war scenes.
To quote what someone said earlier in this thread, if starlink starts becoming a problem, just give Elon a quick call and ask him if he wants to keep his Shanghai gigafactory. If he does, he'll know what to do.

Boom, problem solved, and not a single bullet fired.

This is also basically impossible because Starlink has a large number of satellites at a very low cost, one Falcon 9 rocket can put 60 satellites into orbit at a time, and this rocket has very low launch costs and short lead times because it can be recovered. Whereas anti-satellite missiles are much more expensive and few in number, you have to save more of them for more important military reconnaissance satellites, not for stopping the Taiwanese from going on YouTube.

Don't be naive, basically all American companies will have to give up their assets in mainland China at the same time the war in Taiwan breaks out. You expect American companies to continue to do business in China while a war is going on? I thought no one had that illusion after the war in Ukraine.

That happening isn't a 100% given though.

(Not to mention there are US businesses still doing business in Russia right now)

Not thinking of anti-satellite missiles, talking about new weapons like killer satellites and directed energy weapons, but yeah its a bit too much just to prevent them from visiting Reddit and those weapons are not out or proven yet. I'm guessing a new plan, so what if electric infrastructures are shutdown so it would need a generator to be active and easier to pick up what's left without sensors, then put out loitering munitions to do SEAD on those satellite dishes? Also would it be possible to fry those satellite's electronics? I recall reading that those dishes have heating problems, but they might have worked it out for newer designs and could be only problematic in hotter climates.

What? Using loitering munitions to sweep up portable generators in residential areas? Why don't you just use cluster bombs to kill all the residents of Taiwan? No one would be alive, so naturally no one would upload the video. I don't want to say too much, but you better read your own words.

Hit satellite dishes not generators and definitely not people... those dishes still need to be in the open to have a good connection.
