I asked someone to sticky this. It's a basic question of human decency, no matter what India's politics are. I absolutely expect India to betray China as well even if India ends up being aligned with China, but I don't view China as fundamentally different (DeGaulle: nations have no friends, only interests).

And no, I'm not Indian. I'm just a very pro-India ethnic Chinese, although of course I don't enjoy India being part of the Quad.
I am not objecting to your thread content. I find it very reasonable and I also agree that China should be (and it is) helping India.

What I find strange is the sticky part of it. Normally threads are stickied when they are super important.

For example, the Chinese Economy thread is not stickied even when it is so important and so much discussion happens on that

Same with the Semiconductors thread which is absolutery critical for China's Geo-economic strategy.

And now this thread which is covid related is stickied when Covid already has its own sticky thread. I just find it very strange.

Anyway, it doesn't affect me much but I just wanted to share some thoughts on the sticky process

I don't know, thousands of people are dying (tens of thousands if you believe in an Indian undercount), and it's sort of a question of human decency as to whether, if you have the capability, to do something about it.

As I've said on CDF, I have no problem with nuking India or killing Indians in border skirmishes or all-out war, provided that there's sufficient rationale (nuclear-exchange, casus belli) to do it. What I do have a problem with is Indians dying from COVID-19 because the Indian government is utterly incompetent. For quite a few people, they don't need to die, except that people here didn't want to pony up.

I've personally tossed 100 USD their way. I want to emphasize that Zomato has come out that they're sourcing oxygen concentrators from China. Remember that you're helping Indians buy Chinese goods in this case.

Good for you. Have you ever donated 100 USD to the poor people of Kashmir who are being crushed by India to this day. Nobody here believes you donated 100 USD unless you offer proof.

Why? Any transaction should be beneficial to both sides. India have nothing to give other than maybe land and gold. China can accept gold as payment as well. No American green paper or rupee.

To be treated with decency needs to be earned. The current government and people don't deserve any. No need to show civility to barbarians, they don't understand it.

I repeat my answer to Inst in CDF

What did India do when the pandemic broke out in Wuhan? Modi’s government banned the export of medical supplies, and then resources like cottons. Indians declared to the world it welcomes all businesses that want to leave China because of supply chain concerns. Indian trolls propagated all kinds of anti-China conspiracies online. The government took the opportunity to push their “forward policy” at the border and killed 4 PLA soldiers.

Where the hell were their decency and humanity then? What India going through is damn karma. Indian should know that concept well.

Chinese should treat the Indian the same way the Indian treated the Chinese.

以直报怨

I don't hate Indian people, i just hate the Indian government.
And the Indians who cheered when Chinese were dying in wuhan and tried to backstab us and get factories to leave China during the heigh of the pandemic.

You'll notice this behaviour when dealing with these Indians i take it as being part of the national character: when they are weak, they'll make themselves as pathetic as possible to elicit your money and resources. But when they think they are in the power seat, they will abuse it and try to take everything from you.

I offer Indians my "Thoughts & Prayers" in their time of need, which is far more humane considering the Indians who delighted in the misfortune of Chinese back in Feb 2020

While I like the idea of this thread and I've always advocated for a better moral standing vs opponents of China (esp regarding India) and have often sought to highlight on the important of capping the vitriol thrown about...

I must say that this thread is unwarranted.

India does not welcome China's assurances and offer of help. Indians still blame China and demands China pay for this "crime". A lot of Jai Hind /Bhakts still advocate "payback" to China.

Go to other forums, YouTube video comments etc.

Unrequited help is seen as a nuisance.

I stickied this thread because I think we are better than those people. Whether you donate is your choice.
