I stickied this thread because I think we are better than those people. Whether you donate is your choice.

I have never believed that I am better than any group of people, whether its Indian, American, European, you name it. Nor should anyone else, because that would be racist. Because I am NOT a racist, I do not claim to be "better" than Indians. We are their equal. Therefore as they do not help us, I do not help them. We do not carry some misguided notion of yellow man's burden. Any attempt to try to make the world in our image will only lead to disaster.

Indians are determined, despite the best efforts of Chinese humanitarians, to make China an enemy.
The Indians who vote and decide policy live in the anglosphere and desperately want to be one of the Anglos and when they're living safely in the anglosphere, they're not going to be too worried about the deaths of indians insofar as it makes them look bad in the anglosphere.
For instance, a NYT article which talks about indians desperately gasping for oxygen and the failure of the indian trumplike Modi; it appears the Indians were more pissed off about the negative reporting (which is a valid criticism of the shitrag that is the NYT) affecting their standing in anglo society, than actually saving indian lives.

This leads me to the conclusion that the indian diaspora will vote overwhelmingly for sinophobic policies despite any goodwill or aid given by China or Chinese people.

As far as i'm concerned, every dead indian from modi's covid is an enemy the PLA doesn't have to defend itself against; we are effectively saving lives- Chinese lives- with the death of indians.

When they go low we go high. Dont expect India to appreciate any help received from China. But help anyway. Right thing to do.

China already made multiple offers to help India. No response from India of course.

Populism, ultra-nationalism, bureaucratic red tape, corruption, and incompetence is basically how India is governed these days. In a country like India, democracy is holding it back.

As well intentioned this act of genorosity will be, reality is it will end up the same way when Chinese PPEs equipement saved thousands of health care professionals in the West during the first wave last year.

No one will even hear about it, except for that one instance when defective masks were ordered and it's all China's fault of course, or when sub-par equipment are being used and it happens to be made in China.
Everyone from the elites down to the homeless will continue to use China as a scapegoat. Cue extraordinary raise in anti-Asian violence a year later.

When you are the scapegoat, there is nothing you can do to amend the relationship until the other person realizes how wrong they are on their own. It's like having a narcissist family member who blames you for everything wrong in their life, just leave it alone and stop wasting your time. Your kindness will be repaid by burning hatred because they know they can never repay you and you are in fact better than them, but they'd rather die than to admit that.

There is nothing to do except quarantine the entire country and help its neighbours (Nepal, Pakistan, etc.) survive the coming variants.

One hopes that decision-makers in China have more wisdom and greater vision than some of the more belligerent and embittered posters here.
Actually we are better already than these indians and anglos who indulged in memes and gloating over the deaths in Wuhan in feb 2020; these individuals fantasised and masturbated over conspiracy theories over "bioweapons in Wuhan".

I don't see Chinese gloating or making distasteful memes as the anglos did in reddit and 4chan and twitter, and as US politicians gloated.

They do, and as of now, Modi either gets attacked by nationalists for accepting the help of China or let his people die. He will no longer be able to sneakily import PPE and other necessary equipment like in the beginning of the pandemic. Thank goodness the Chinese leadership is starting to understand that every country has their own unique set of morals.

I don't hate Indian people, i just hate the Indian government.
And the Indians who cheered when Chinese were dying in wuhan and tried to backstab us and get factories to leave China during the heigh of the pandemic.

You'll notice this behaviour when dealing with these Indians i take it as being part of the national character: when they are weak, they'll make themselves as pathetic as possible to elicit your money and resources. But when they think they are in the power seat, they will abuse it and try to take everything from you.

I offer Indians my "Thoughts & Prayers" in their time of need, which is far more humane considering the Indians who delighted in the misfortune of Chinese back in Feb 2020
The Indian people voted for the government they got, so I hate the people and the government they voted for. So if a more of them get covid and overwhelm their system, not my place to help.

I'm atheist, so don't expect me to pray, don't believe in that. I don't think of them either, got more important things to think about, like where I'm ordering food for tomorrow

I want to help if it's a case of pure misfortune, not that of stupidity and indifferent carelessness, both of the unwashed masses and ruling class. Even US of A is only offering AstraZeneca, which isn't not even allowed to use. Go figure. Jai hind.
