This is currently run by Zomato, which used to be Chinese-invested. They are likely buying COVID-19 equipment from China, given their relations as well as the fact that Chinese COVID-19 oxygen equipment is the cheapest on the market, so if you donate to Zomato, you're likely subsidizing the Chinese oxygen equipment industry at the same time.

At 2.8k-19.6k deaths per day and ~350k new cases per day, COVID-19 in India has gone from a "hahaha fuck India" joke to a serious humanitarian disaster. Don't be a dick, if you can, help out. If you're a Chinese national or have a Chinese address, try mentioning it to improve PR.

Who made this thread a sticky?? This should be under the general covid thread.

I don't see a need to help India, they haven't asked for help.

Or they can trade land for help. For every bottle of oxygen, 1 km2 of land of China's choosing. For every oxygen concentrator, 100 km2 of China's choosing. Of course they must vacate the land first, don't want the sick on China's new land.

Why? Any transaction should be beneficial to both sides. India have nothing to give other than maybe land and gold. China can accept gold as payment as well. No American green paper or rupee.

To be treated with decency needs to be earned. The current government and people don't deserve any. No need to show civility to barbarians, they don't understand it.

Donate on the principle they (gov or people) appreciate your donation. Otherwise it’s unwise to give freely just like giving gifts to countries to buy friendships it won’t last. Let the West show its true color to Indians or maybe ask Quad brothers for burden distribution. In the end China will still be blamed for the surge just like blaming Covid19 began from China. It would misrepresent China goodwill as guilt for unleashing covid19 to the world.

What did India do when the pandemic broke out in Wuhan? Modi’s government banned the export of medical supplies, and then resources like cottons. Indians declared to the world it welcomes all businesses that want to leave China because of supply chain concerns. Indian trolls propagated all kinds of anti-China conspiracies online. The government took the opportunity to push their “forward policy” at the border and killed 4 PLA soldiers.

Where the hell were their decency and humanity then? What India going through is damn karma. Indian should know that concept well.

Chinese should treat the Indian the same way the Indian treated the Chinese.

I asked someone to sticky this. It's a basic question of human decency, no matter what India's politics are. I absolutely expect India to betray China as well even if India ends up being aligned with China, but I don't view China as fundamentally different (DeGaulle: nations have no friends, only interests).

And no, I'm not Indian. I'm just a very pro-India ethnic Chinese, although of course I don't enjoy India being part of the Quad.

I've personally tossed 100 USD their way. I want to emphasize that Zomato has come out that they're sourcing oxygen concentrators from China. Remember that you're helping Indians buy Chinese goods in this case.
