Zhao Lijian at FMA got asked about the drone visits to Jinmen and he had this to say:

我也看到了有关的视频,中国的无人机到中国的领土上去飞一飞,我不觉得这是什么值得大惊小怪的事。
"I saw the relevant videos, Chinese drones flying over Chinese territory, I don't see what the big deal is."

I have a feeling these drone visits might have official blessing. If it was entirely grass root you would think Xiamen police or MSS would have cracked down on it by now.

DJI has that under a no fly zone so if this was a dji drone then its 100% state approved...

What was surprising to analysts was the muted response from Beijing.
The Chinese military's Eastern Theater Command said it monitored the two ships, maintained a high alert and was "ready to thwart any provocation."
Even the state-run Global Times tabloid, known for its often jingoistic and staunchly nationalist editorials, said the presence of the two cruisers brought "no actual threat to China's security."

This is what I've been saying China should do more. The less China reacts, the less opportunities there are for the Americans to poke you.

True but the more they sail there ship for the purpose of annoying people the more they have to spend on doing this sail by business which means more resources gone and ultimately the greater the debt and the more focus spent on silly advertising instead of actual r&d that could actually help their chances against China. Kinda like in Ukraine where much time was spent on media warfare instead of actually having a real strategy. Hence as long as China uses a cool head and acts accordingly, China won’t be in any disadvantage. Besides considering that the USA has yet to sail their super carrier across the strait, this already shows quite plainly how scared the are and still are since the start of this conflict

I have respect for the Tico class, but in context of the USN's plan to retire them in the next few years, it seems a little less impressive and almost symbolic in a somewhat more morbid manner than they probably intended.
Truly a respectable class, especially with the valiant combat record of the Vincennes. When I think respectability and prowess, I don't think this

Or. They’ll realize sailing through the straits won’t provoke any reaction from the Chinese that they can use for their advantage, they’ll stop all together.
