And if that UK guy visits, next time increase the pressure, entire week long blockade with overland flights instead of just barely inside of "Taiwan's" 12 nm "airspace"

We will find out what CCP reactions would be when UK MPs visit Taiwan later this year. However, expectation of serious PRC response has already been made by the public remarks of PRC ambassador to UK. Ambassador Zheng Zeguan used the words "playing with fire" to warn UK in an official press conference.

We call on the UK side to abide by its own commitments and not to underestimate the extreme sensitivity of the Taiwan issue or follow the US foot steps and “play with fire”. Remember: Those who play with fire get burnt!

What level are these British MPs ? If they are just ordinary MPs, should China take action other than some verbal protest ?

The real question is whether what China is doing now and in the next week or two be enough to deter further visits by, say, EU President, NATO Chief, Modi, Japan PM, Australia PM, US VP etc etc ?

If my reading of the Chinese response is correct, they don't want to see the visits stop. More visits will allow them to continue and expand the scope of their military exercises until it becomes a regular ongoing event. If the U.S. does not respond to their exercises, it will change the status quo on the ground in due time.

Modi? Lol seriously? Don't think the Indians are that brave despite their expertise in trolling. And who's going to back India? The U.S.? Sure

Its also a tripwire of sorts, if the US does respond and responds above a certain threshold of involvement, it signals to China that it must go straight to full armed reunification.... by but then it would be in a better position to do so vs had it not have encircled Tiawan closer and closer through these series of excercises...

Now that status quo is shattered both sides will accelerate the salami slicing until eventually AR gets triggered

If there is no serious deterrent factor in China's response (to Pelosi's visit) now, it just encourage other countries to arm Taiwan with more weapons that will make it more bloody when the time come for armed reunification.

As pointed out by numerous forum members, the US and her allies do not care about Taiwan's independence. They just want to see any AR will be as bloody and resource draining as possible to drag down China.
