Are you so confident that the video is doctored? If so, then is the Japanese MoD saying it in plain language?

More importantly, do you think the videos are doctored? We've known Japan has intercepted Chinese spy planes for years, and they release photos taken from their interceptors round the clock every year. Would it surprise you to think someone on a PLAAF bird could have pointed a video camera right back?

That is not that important. What is is the distance between the two planes. 30m is basically close formation maneuvers in which the pilots are working as a team which is why the F-15J whether doctored or not respects distance since they do not know what is going on in the PLAAF pilot's head..
As I had posted PLAAF can do whatever they want since it is within their rights in international airspace as much as Japan is. Just keep distance so not to make another Hainan Island Incident happen again.

I repeat 30m is not international norms for interception.

Do you have proof that Chinese jets got any closer to JASDF planes than JASDF jets got to PLAAF planes.

A few nice select images, from this site:

It's definitely not out of the norm to get within a few dozen meters of another plane during interception.
And like I said, JASDF is doing it as well.

Japan has no leg to stand on in claiming the PLAAF is acting irresponsibly with regards to distance.

NO but I do have proof provided by PLAAF that JASDF certainly did not come anywhere near that range.

For your information anyone of the pictures you had posted is not anywhere near couple of dozen meters. If it was considering the size of the Russian bombers that is neatly fitted in the frame the US fighter's wings would had been within touching range of the Russians and would much seem smaller in size relative to the bombers.

Beyond that it's he said I said which is good considering the situation since if PLAAF does approach a JASDF aircraft closer then 100m in the future you can bet a pretty penny that Japan will disclose the vid displaying to the world on how close it came.
In a game of PR it's sometimes better to announce where the boundaries of do not enter is before the other party reaches that point.

You can also bet in the future the Chinese officials won't be lying about the incident like the Japanese government did. It's better to state the facts than trying to BSing your way out of it.

BSing what out of it?

I recall of a lot of PRC propaganda that turned out otherwise. Can you say the same with the present Japanese government?

Why in the future? Why not just release the vid of the current encounter to which Japan is laying charges? Then everyone, including all of us here, can compare the two vids. Japan lays a lot of charges but provides very little evidence for the rest of the world to examine.

If they had a vid handy they might BUT they were on a electronic signal recon mission not a filming mission.

Then provide the electronic readings for distance and aircraft identification then. I find no vid because it's a recon mission hard to believe. As much as I want the Chinese to provide evidence, I expect the same of the Japanese.
