No, I'm saying without the US Taiwan wouldn't exist to this day as an independent state. They will be a Chinese province by now. They themselves they know they owe their current statehood survival to the US Military protection and detterence. Without the US I actually think Taiwan would have different consideration towards the mainland and they would have reunited already.
