Using laser precision cutting, Delong Laser enables intelligent manufacturing of foldable screen mobile phones.

As the foldable screen mobile phone market continues to heat up, a variety of innovative materials have become the key to the evolution of foldable screen mobile phones, which also puts forward higher requirements for fine laser processing equipment. With its deep accumulation in the field of laser processing and its spirit of continuous innovation, Delong Laser has made early arrangements for foldable screen applications. Relevant equipment has been shipped and applied in production lines, which has been highly recognized by customers and accurately and efficiently serves every detail of the intelligent manufacturing of foldable screen mobile phones.

1. UTG glass cutting equipment

UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass)
has shown a wide range of application prospects in foldable screen mobile phones and other flexible display devices due to its ultra-thinness, flexibility, high transparency and high temperature resistance . At present, UTG has become the preferred material for screen covers of many mobile phone brands. With the continuous growth of market demand, the demand for processing of UTG materials has also increased sharply.

In response to this emerging material, Delong Laser has launched dedicated UTG glass cutting equipment . By leveraging the advantages of advanced laser technology, it has achieved efficient and precise cutting of UTG materials, improved the production efficiency and yield rate of UTG cover plates, and provided strong support for the precise processing of UTG materials.

2. CPI laser fine micro-machining equipment

CPI ( transparent polyimide film )
is the main material that enables foldable screens to be folded repeatedly without damage . With its stable performance, mature technology and price advantages, it has become another important choice for screen cover materials .

The CPI laser fine micro-processing equipment
launched by Delong Laser is specially designed for CPI and other key materials of folding screens, achieving high-precision and high-efficiency cutting.

Unfortunately it's what the market demands. I used to read both Tom's and Anandtech, and the two diverged as Tom's became clickbait and survived while Anandtech is now shutting down.

There's almost no money in printed hardware journalism. Both Tom's and Anandtech were owned by a British publishing house or whatever. Ian Cuttress addresses why both websites have steadily declined over the years. Spoiler: The obvious downward trajectory of the website after the acquisition was one of the reasons he left.

Nvidia’s Custom H20 Chip for China Reportedly Halted

Nvidia has stopped taking orders for its H20 chips since August, according to Chinese media outlet CLS, citing distributors. While there has been no official notice, sources suggest distributors are “waiting on the latest updates”. One industry insider said Nvidia began accepting H20 chip orders in February, shipping them in April, with bulk shipments following in May. However, several distributors recently reported that they are no longer accepting H20 orders, though some still have stock available.
The report also quoted a distributor saying, “Large firms have mostly stockpiled, while smaller ones might still have some demand.” Orders are still being taken, but interest in the H20 chip is low due to its underwhelming performance and relatively high price, with some even describing it as a “chicken rib”—something of little value. Nvidia declined to comment on these claims.
Earlier, Sina Finance reported that Chinese firms, including ByteDance, have been stockpiling Nvidia chips, with ByteDance reportedly holding over 100,000 units. H20 orders for 2024 are expected to reach between 320,000 and 330,000 units, with 140,000 to 150,000 already delivered. Additionally, ByteDance plans to purchase more than 30,000 H100 chips from overseas, with potential follow-up orders for B200 and H200 chips.

Interesting that Bytedance got access to that many H100s this year from its overseas unit. Just shows how easy it is to access H100 as long as you are willing to pay a premium for it.

I'm assuming H20 orders have stopped because new sanctions will make it not a viable option.

At this point, Chinese firms, especially hyper scalers like Bytedance, are just trying to get as many AI chips as they can.

my feeling with this laptop is that they are still working hard on getting all domestic laptop rolled out with Harmony OS.

At some point, they will start using CXMT memory chips (assuming CXMT got all the equipment they need and are willing to start working with Huawei).

Also, they really stocked up on a lot of chips. It looks like they are still using the ones they bought in 2020.

the fact they still don't use CXMT memory chips tells me that CXMT is actively trying to avoid Huawei as its customer in order to keep the equipment coming in from America.

The fact they still don't use CXMT memory chips tells me that Huawei can still source DRAM form others (Samsung?), if Huawei would absolutely need CXMT, CXMT would answer "Yes, I'm ready" (willing or not willing), there is no doubt about that.

As you mentioned, CXMT is still ramping up DRAM production and is setting up the HBM line, so of course they prefer to avoid additional external troubles...although the impact of a possible entity listing of CXMT at this point is not so clear....but IMHO we will not have to wait a lot to see how they will manage it: in the soon-to-come next "October package" US will very probably add also CXMT to entity list....rumors are they will
