On January 19, the mask production project of Jiangsu Luxin Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. laid the foundation stone and started construction. The project is built in Suzhou Industrial Park with a planned investment of 2 billion yuan and covers an area of 74 acres. After completion, it will have an annual production capacity of approximately 35,000 semiconductor masks and is expected to achieve mass production .The project is constructed in two phases. The first phase plans to produce node masks of 45nm and above; the second phase plans to produce node masks of 28nm and above.

The products can be widely used in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, mobile communications, smart grids, Many industries such as high-speed rail transit and new energy vehicles involve integrated circuit semiconductor chip manufacturing and packaging.Masks are core materials in the upstream of the semiconductor industry. Their quality and accuracy directly affect the performance and reliability of semiconductor products. Looking at the graph, last year China fabs imported a record number of litho machines, more than 2 times of 2022. This should be enough for the whole 2024...while SMEE moves from pre-production to mass production...

How may machines can SMEE produce per year?

They are a startup, founded in may 2023. They don't even have a website (at least I wasn't able to find one).

They have just started with building the first phase of their photomask fab (from 130nm to 45nm), after that they will build second phase eventually for 28nm. All in all they are still years away from production and even more from 28nm.

Actually this Wuxi DIS is the same DIS division of CR Micro that I mentioned before.

Currently they have 40nm in production, they are in installation/debug phase of their high-end mask project (as you wrote) and hopefully they will go in production with 28nm within H1 2024
