Chinese Internal Politics

Yeah, I noticed they prefer to keep quiet while western media is dragging China's image through the mud everyday..
A lot of people whine about this, but unfortunately it can't be helped. The West has a monopoly on the propaganda its population is served and that control can't be challenged. If any Chinese media outlet ever made progress in improving China's image, it would be promptly censored and removed from the Western media space. China's image being dragged through the mud every day is just something you're going to have to deal with.

This doesn't concern China in the least because China has a monopoly on the propaganda its population is served and that control can't be challenged.

Besides, Chinese state media's job is to disseminate positive propaganda - stories about a new strain of salt-tolerant soybean, that kind of thing. It's just not structured to get into shouting matches with the likes of CNN. I'd like to ask you and those who share your view what success looks like. What do you think a "successful" Chinese media system would accomplish?

the people who get into shouting matches with their regime media are like Chen Weihua. Look at how hard he ratios the regime on Twitter. Tremendous return on investment. A few individuals vs. a massive media conglomerate that also brainwashes your own people.

if Hu was not sent out for health reasons then he must have planned on saying something during that meeting. Xi had him removed publicly as a warning to his conspirators not to do anything. it would be a very public display of internal rift. if it were simply for health reasons i would imagine xi wouldve at least stood up.

and in a parallel universe. You would be telling us that Xi standing up was a message and warning to his conspirators while personally delivering his final regards to Hu. This speculation is completely pointless when every single action can be twisted to suit any narrative.

Such BS.
Did you ever see the video of when Hu sat down? He was aided by an assistant and Xi actually helped him along.

Seems like the Chinese don't believe inf elderly abuse and forced labour, unlike what the Americans do with Biden.

Another conspiracy believer. Hu was escorted to the opening ceremony due to his poor health. Just look at the opening ceremony to see that he has difficulty to know his direction and properly seat. And Hu came back to vote later after his brief absence.

For top China leader, their appearance of being healthy and sharp is upmost important. Many Chinese leaders including Xi could be not wanted to embarrass Hu so they keep appearance of normalcy.

Look, Xi doesn't need to invite Hu. Hu is asked to attend and seat next to Xi. That means there is not much of a concern of Xi regarding Hu. I just don't understand why people think there would be a coup or open oppositions against Xi. If there were strong oppositions, then we would have seemed some actions already. Most of those liberals leaning top officials that the West rallied behind have all been excluded from the next central committee. Any open oppositions would have happened weeks ago to bring out the best effects and outcomes.
