Li Keqiang doesn't look happy when Hu touches his shoulder. So maybe it is health issues?

Also in the sky news video at 1:25 you can see Li Zhanshu starting to get up and Wang Huning pulls on his suit to make him sit back down.

Another theory is that he was dozing off which would look bad if he was front in center next to Xi. A purge would of also taken others of the cyl whom were also sitting next to Xi...

Which is why I'm hoping for a Hu Chunhua premiership. Not because Xi is bad but because a premier with political capital and new ideas of their own, yet a proven track record of working well with the PC, is never a bad thing. We are in dangerous waters externally and a steady hand at the top is needed - all parts of the top - are important.
Yeah, I actually Hu Chunhua as well. He has proven to be very reliable and competent in both politics and economics. He would be a fine Premier IMO.

Not that Li Qiang is bad, but his lack of experience in the State Council would be concerning if he was made a Premier out of the blue. How can an outsider effectively control an institution when he has zero experience of how it works and powerbase inside. Parachuting outsiders to such a big organisation is bound to create problems and frictions inside the SC

In the end, if I was to bet on who will be the Premier, I am leaning towards Li Qiang. Him being Xi's former chief of staff is IMO going to be the decisive factor between him and Hu Chunhua

Ok, I don't want to drag the Hu Jintao moment any longer, but this looks like a case of Hu suffering a bout of dementia. All the reactions, and non-reactions from his fellow colleagues are confirmations of this.

Everyone must have already known about Hu's dementia for a long time by now, so no one was reacting surprised, that's just Xi, Wang and Li being polite in nodding. Li Keqiang could even be seen to have an almost laugh/chuckle when Hu tapped on him.

As for the others not even looking, you wouldn't want to be talking too much to someone in a bout of dementia, lest you confuse him further.

But of course, a comment from an MSM brainwashed sheeple on Youtube, "Scariest thing is… everyone looking forward like robots and acting as if nothing wrong is happening over there..."

Oh, well.

Li Qiang being premier would double break precedent - going from regional office to national office without a stop in central government, while passing over Hu Chunhua whose had 2 regional offices and 1 in central government. But this is a precedent breaking congress after all.

I'm going to risk my internet points a little and say that premier is going to Hu Chunhua. He is of the correct age for 2 PBSC terms with no precedent break. If he becomes premier, it works out for 2 terms.

Isn’t Li Qiang party secretary for Shanghai? Wonder why he got promoted so far? I’m not happy with Shanghai’s performance with COVID and other things.

Hasn't Li Qiang already had a central govnt post? He's been a politburo member since 2017, the same time he was appointed as Party Secretary of Shanghai.
