That is pretty amazing. These wuxia series in a movie form seem to usually flop in the past
Hope their screenwriters/dieectors r good.

This came out a few years ago but i thought it was pretty good for covering 36-50 episodes in 1.5 hours
This came out half a year ago. This speed run the tv series into like 30 episodes while the original ones were usually 40-50, maybe gear for the adhd tik tok generation. Old timers will probably hate, but i thought it was okay and refreshing. The female lead was nicer and cuter in this one. ML seem smarter than the other ones.

What's the background on this adaptation? It looks like the plot is based on the latter portion of Shediao. Was there another movie for the earlier stories?

I don't understand why film writers keep trying to fit 40-60 episodes worth of content into a 2-3hr movie.
