about the 12,000ton CG ship, according to article posted by Blitzo, it is going to have large docking bay, 2 Z-8 hangars and replenishment capability to supply other CG ships. 4+ are planned.

Can you point to the link? I don't see it.

I believe there are 2 12000 ships under contract. They should just be considered AORs rather than cutters.

but the 12000ton ship also have 76mm and 30mm guns, 25kt speed, according to that article. so a combination replenishment ship and cutter. the docking bay could Ro-Ro bay with boat ramp, or even a flex-bay. basically a large multipurpose law enforcement ship for long distance and long endurance missions. east africa?

Could be possible, but unless there are more than two planned I'm not sure if they would send a valuable asset like this to far away places where they may not be able to be recalled quickly.

I thought China Marine Surveillance was merged into the CCG more than a year ago. They haven't had time to repaint their ships?

those pictures are awesome. never seen CCG in this much action. no wonder they need to build up the CCG into the biggest and most capable coast guard force because there will be lots of action in the SCS and ECS. this is just a warm up, the game hasn't even begun yet:D

It's great to see China expanding its coast guard. After all the confrontation with the Japanese coast guard in the past, Beijing has finally realized the value of a coast guard consist of large modern ships.
