Careful, I pointed out his hypocritical nonsense not long ago, he sent me a ranty PM and has been stalking me ever since taking petty pot shots and running to the mods with all sorts of reports of imagined ‘infractions’.

I just put him on my exclusive ignore list since I can’t remember the last time he posted anything worth reading, and every time I see the other side of a pointless argument he started with some pointless and petty flamebait, I’m glad of that decision.

You can't stand Western it is all almost 10 OT posts ! and you had started... with some flamebait yes... mainly politic and chauvinism in mind and not the first time you have the habbit to do it i don't do same for China

Please ... as @latenlazy just explained first of all it is a forum and everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. Even more each different opinion is often nothing more than that: just an opinion and no-one is forced to share this one.

So please do nor report each and every critical "opinion" or rate that as an anti-anything post that does not fit yours while in return you yourself also sometimes have an opinion that others not necessarily will shore or will take offensive.

And now back to topic ... or better step away from the PC, it's Christmas time.

What is anyone's best guess that the pennant numbers for the Type 055 DDGs will be?

Anyone have any idea what the first one, or any of the first four might be?

I have seen 180, 181, 191, et. but do not know which might be actual.

I am now building my 1/350 sale Type 055 and will post a thread about it sometime this holiday...but am looking for the likely pennant number?

Any ideas?

A satellite photo of the Shanghai JN shipyard from Terraserver, dated 11/24/2017. One 055 is fitting out, a second one is in final assembly, with modules for a third one right next to it. I also spot five LCACs, a Yuan, and a 052D.

I am more interested in guessing what it's name will be, following the naming convention it will be named after a major city.
For a ship of this magnitude and importance, I am crossing my fingers for a significant city name. Maybe Shanghai for the honour of the shipyard that build it, or even possibly Beijing.
Nanking and Dalian are also on my list.

Beijing & Shanghai are provincial level, they are for carriers. Beijing being the capital, may never be used at all.

Many good names are already taken and not many significant ones left. First 055 is said to be Nanchang, where PLA was born. After that it could be anything left.

For carriers, after liaoning and shandong, zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong are likely to have their carriers. Maybe even Hong Kong.

What about the modules right in front of the second 055?

It looks like a modul for another 052D.

I see, though if the PLAN decides to do a double take and reclassify the Type 055 as a cruiser we might see those names being use ( I know, I know its called a "large destroyer" officially but even the name "large destroyer" suggests that the Type 055 is an entirely new class of its own), also the PLAN better start thinking up a new set of naming conventions for their ships, as they are running out of landmarks and cities pretty fast, and might resort to reusing previously taken names.
