That's for sure. China made Audi brand what it is today in the global market. In China, BBA are tier one and Lexus is in tier two. But I think in US buyers would put Lexus above Audi. I still remember the days of Audi 100, which was not a great car and when Audi was not even regarded as a true luxury brand. So in my memory, it would be a no-brainer for Audi to fix its standing in China first and foremost. Going all-in now is the only viable option.
BTW, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen already announced L3 regulation in 2025, one of which terms is that vendors shall be responsible for their L3 offering liability. That would put all self-claimed L3 vendors on the beach and show who are naked at the end of the day. I think 2025 will determine the ultimate fate of BBA standings in China.

People thought all the bad stuff like job cuts, bad economy, war etc would go down now the uncertainty about Trump getting elected is gone and its the end of 2024. However its the start of 2025 and so far its still shit.
Problems don’t magically fix themselves. If anything the Trump presidency will increase the speculative part of the economy since he loves superficial wins (best stock market in history). Unfortunately it is going to continue to contribute to the wealth gap.

I could see a deal possible if this deal was just shuffling some obfuscated ownership structure and Trump allowed Chinese EV manufacturers to do joint ventures in US.
