Yeah, Trump's ultimate dream is to become some kind of dictator, I mean even babies can understand his personality type.

So, how could he allow for something like a 'meager' TikTok app to dictate his position prospects like this forever?

Once he used it, he would discard it like trash, after he amassed more power.

The people here said the same things about Biden and his supposed China links, and him being a CCP agent in a joking manner and whatever, thinking he would be better than Trump, but then boom.

He probably thinks that keeping TikTok unbanned, for some time, is enough favor to the company anyway.

This kind of sentimental thinking due to having ties to both the US and China and wanting them to be peaceful forever like in past decades, is not logical.

It is clear as day that some time ago someone from the deep state/oligarchy simply decided finally to try and destroy/collapse China due to its rapid rise and that's it.
USA been trying to destroy China since 2017.... it hasnt been working

Now their last hail mary is AGI/ASI... and Sam Altman of OpenAI was saying US will get to Superintelligence during Trumps watch, maintain permanent lead, leave DeepSeek forever in the dust etc

If this doesnt work, its truly game over for USA... EUV, AI are the final Trump cards

There are nothing left in the bag

I'm not sure how would a 50% joint venture work, Bytedance is almost joint venture. I doubt China will approve unless it is a really good deal, just face saving for Trump.

I think TikTok has already setup a TikTok USA and had a president/ceo whom quit during round 1 in 2020. Likely, this would be a joint venture for that portion only. This is similar to how JV works in China. I think this is more a face saving win for Trump. He keeps tiktok running, "forces" china to give up a portion of tiktok (usa), either gets 10s of million of new fans or people that would stay politically neutral on him. The US oligarch owners gets more censoring and algo manipulation. 50% of global operation would be a lost on the chinese side.

Doesn't work like that since the Tiktok ban bill also affect other Bytedance products, not just Tiktok.

There's no negotiation after you undo a ban like that, where would your bargaining power come from? What threaten another ban?
More like after 90 days they would quietly extend for another 90 days "because negotiation is still ongoing, it will be done soon" and so on and so forth every 90 days.
Majority owner of Tiktok are mostly American anyway so there is no need to sell. From what I'm seeing it is disingenuous of Trump to claim the savior when he is the one who initiated the ban in the first place.

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, was founded by Chinese entrepreneurs. ByteDance is a privately-held global company, roughly 60 percent owned by global institutional investors (such as Blackrock, General Atlantic, and Susquehanna International Group), 20 percent owned by the company’s founders, and 20 percent owned by its employees—including over 7,000 U.S.-based employees. It is not owned or controlled by any government or state-controlled entity.

Trump gone all in as being the tiktok savior and digging deeper... so hard to tell who has the better hand.
I mean the US has gone from sell Tiktok, to forming 50-50 JV now. It's clear China has the upper hand, Trump also has political pressure now since Americans want Tiktok back and he promised to save Tiktok before. Trump wants a deal, I think China can give him a face saving deal.
