I can't think of a Chinese example/anti-example, but if no one calls the Apache the H-64, it's always the AH-64.

this is kind of interesting. This is from a recent military electronics display. I'm not sure if these would be used on Z-10 or not (I suspect no), but at least they are showcasing these IR jammers and Laser warning receivers.

IR jammer most likely JD-3,while effective against first gen. IR guide missile, ineffective against newer gen. IR missile.during afgant war, most soviet helos were fitted with IR jammer, that does not prevent it from shooting down by stinger.during first gulf war, according to JDW,most of US aircraft were shoot down by SA-16 despite the fact all US aircraft were fitted with standard warning/IR jammer.
next gen. ir jammer was direct energy IR jammer or laser jammer.although China (like the russian)do have similiar device, but may have been suffer weight problem.

In wiki, somone entered the entry as WZ-10. I've seen other references all it 'WZ-10'.

Let me add something. I find it very difficult to believe there is a "brochure" of an attack helicopter or weapons system that isn't even fielded in the PLA yet and now there is a brochure trying to export it?

Second, it is a long standing policy that for military use, they will try to use as many domestically made components as much as possible in order to reduce vulrnerabilities to foreign dependence. In the end, the final product will have either a Chinese made part, whether it is indigenously designed, directly licensed or reverse engineered from other sources. In the Z-8s for example, foreign made components may be found in the civilian used versions, but the PLA ones will always use domestically made ones. In fact, they go out of their way into expensive programs trying to replace as many foreign dependencies as much as possible, like the various turbine engine projects.

Acording to the mainsite, that helicopter, the one which joint developted by Eurocopter is called Z-15.

Wikipedia is Wikipedia, I don't consider it being the highest authority over anything as most of the stuff in there comes from sites like sinodefence and Huitong's aviation page.

Actually some of the stuff being written into Wiki on PLA related matters are being entered by some people in the mainland, because there are bits of info that are not in SDF or CMA. Furthermore its not inconsistent with other reports.

Z-15 is another project.

According to the mainsite, the Harbin/eurocopter project is called Z-15, which your links were refering. Unless there is two joint programs with the europeans? Also some of the pics were from the same model as displayed under the z-15 name.

Harbin is not the same company making the Z-10, its Changhe. Its not Eurocopter involved but Augusta. Yes there are two joint projects.
