I'm sure WZ-10 has fired A2A missiles before, considering how often we've seen it carrying TY-90s.

I wonder how the times of india got that info.

ty-9 was design for helos, but since it use ir seeker,it likely ineffective at low altitude, since IR seeker will simple overwhelm by ground thermal signature.
most of air to air combat between helos, either Israel Syrian war in Lebanon or iran Iraq war were claim by anti tank missile.

That only happened in the Vietnam era today IR missiles are completely different class

Lightweight modem TY-90 is probably as good as it gets, just as the Stinger

No. You are looking at vintage IR seeker missiles.

Many current MANPAD utilised IR seeker missiles, and they would be fired at a point that is lower than the helicopter (from the shoulder of soldiers), so if what you say is true, all these missiles will be ramming back to the ground once fired. It is mere common sense.

if TY-90 use IR imaging, likely it can engage target lfying at low altitude.
but if there back ground thermal signature like burning building or burning tank,IR imaging seeker could easily saturate with thermal signature.

Slapping yourself again, are we? first you say it is ineffective, then you say it can engage? Come on!

Secondly, why would you fire your missiles at very low altitude targets, so low it can be affected by ground signature like a burning building or a burning tank. TY-90 is an AA missile for crying out loud.

Generally those missiles are more of a last ditch anyway air to air with a chopper is more a act of desperation and the stuff of Hollywood.
