Oh yeah I forgot about that one,perhaps its because they werent memorable,like the NK's in 1966 where they really caught the other teams out with their extreme fitness, loosing to Portugal 5/3 in the quarters what a game. I dont think I have seen any Asian team , play as well in an international against a highly rated European team since. Wasnt it slightly easier for China to get in as Korea and Japan had automatic entries?
I think China should have qualified in 82 they were a more skillful team than NZ. To beat them NZ decided to play a more physical game
well you'll have to concede that south korea did beat italy spain and portugal in 2002...even though they were playing 14 against 11
