China mediate ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.....Why should China get involved in this shit? China will get smeared by West anyways and any talk of "Putin cool it" will be interpreted as "slight" or "betrayal" by Putin, so what is the point of getting involved? China should stay out of this giant clusterfck.

It does situationally where Russia is acting as an aggressor in its backyard. Russia can get away with Ukraine much like they did with said countries because they know they can bare the brunt of the consequences, you keep trying to justify your point because you believe the Russians are justified in their invasion when they objectively aren’t.

I can see supporting the LNR and DPR but a full invasion of Ukraine will never be justified and is a true tragedy and the fact that you can’t seem to see the faults in Russia’s invasion; there are faults with Ukraine as-well but nothing to justify a war; is what is most tragic.

This only provides the Russian government and higher ups with the confidence to further harass and militarize their neighbors; no better than the Americans.

@Phead128 Bro it's called soft power, both side acknowledge your leadership to achieved a common goal. And also it's for China benefit that an agreement is sign, it will only enhance China prestige around the world.

Man, I'm not sure if you have noticed, but China is already getting dragged into this by the West. The calls to sanction China for not kowtowing to the West are increasing and it is only a matter of time before they actually push for them.

Just like it is a matter of time before the US attempts to cross a red line with China that the chinese can't afford to ignore.

Simple Soft-Power, if the Chinese manage to get a diplomatic solution will boost China image in the world stage and could be a lost for the West and their antagonizing moves.

I'll like to see how they'll spin China's peace mediation efforts.

Won't say it'll work because it's too early but the propaganda is at full bore.

I agree, I think it's a bad idea. What puts me off the most about it is the fact the west seem keen on it.

The Russians are going to punish Ukraine hard, WW1 style. Imagine "the treaty of Beijing" being seen the same way the Versailles is?

@sheogorath drag or not, China is too big to ignore, It only show the importance the rest of the world see China. So this is it guys, we're all clamoring for respect and be treated equal, this is the first step and we will see more as China climb to prominence, so what's the ruckus.
