These things other than "denazificiation" seem workable - Ukraine neutrality probably means no EU and no NATO, giving up Crimea is probably going to be hard to swallow but maybe, given that Russia already holds it and has held it for a while, maybe ok.

I'm just not sure what denazification means - this is an overarching goal that needs specific details. Giving up the separatist regions? arresting Azov members or leaders? I think

And, just to say, it seems Ukrainians are amendable to maybe neutrality so far. So, we've got 1/3 and 3/3. Good diplomacy (and hard bargaining) would indicate we get 2/3 and everyone goes home unhappy. But... who knows what the western bloc would do to sabotage or add fuel to the fire?
this is negotiation between Ukraine and Russia. The U.S. is not part of it. The sanctions will stay no matter what. Since Russia already incur the cost of war from the sanctions, they will not stop until they get all of what they want. If you don't win at the battlefield, you will also not get it at the negotiating table. The Ukrainian military is surrounded. It is a matter of time before the cities fall as they run out of stuff. I don't see a reason why Russia would stop until they turn Ukraine into Belarus.

Classic wag the dog scenario.

This is why alliances are stupid.
Sometimes they can be good, one or two smaller countries can fight a bigger nation with an alliance.

But America already is the biggest military power in the world, and NATO is next to useless against the second biggest power (China). If America wanted bases for their soldiers or missiles they could just make a deal with that country like Russia or China does. It's not even like NATO has lead to led to more sales for the MIC, the Europeans prefer making their own stuff. I don't think there's a single platform or equipment that they've managed to standardise, besides ammo.

Trump was 100% right about NATO.

A negotiated peace looks better for Russia and the world. A negotiated peace opens the door for neutral countries to work with Russia significantly more than a military solution. Sanctions won't go away, but other countries won't be as pressured to join in them. A faster resolution also lets Russia claim a victory - how much better would it look to say they got in, got what they wanted, and got out, as opposed to the United States which never leaves?

There is so much more you can get on the negotiating table in the long run than you can get militarily.
