Why use a light beacon? It is not the easiest thing to spot from an aircraft, especially in the day. The Russians would have been using IR strobes for marking targets or LZs. IR strobes are much better designed for getting picked up by thermal vision. Besides, IR strobes and thermal vision are relatively common technology today.
Suspicious fake news from the Ukrainian side. Maybe they are trying to justify the random murders and friendly fires going on among their ranks. Blaming them on 'Russian saboteurs'.
Most chinese are not afraid of MAD with US, myself included. If that is the way the world is, so be it. I would have lived a full and meaningful life knowing my people took down the world's greatest nazi empire. And Africa and the Arab peoples will finally have thier day in the sun.

Its not zero. Russia's offensive has made slower progress than expected, the longer this goes, the less stockpiles of material available and the more likely NATO is likely to send harder assets like replacement tanks to Ukraine. Putin is under the gun to wrap it up. Hopefully a ceasefire can be reached in a few days.
Agreed. However, the threat to Putin is from within Russia, not directly from Ukraine. He could be deposed by one of his own. That said, it would be a less than 1% likelihood now.
Zero chance of that. No Russian today thinks the end of the USSR was a good thing. They may have more freedom now, but their country is broken and has been looted.
All Putin has to do is point that out that if he is overthrown Russia will be broken up even more, and this time America will denuclearise Russia.
It's the same reason the CPC aren't going anywhere.
