"SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL: On the refit, Bob, we don't know for sure how long this is going to take because some units are much more devastated than others. We've seen indications of some units that are literally, for all intents and purposes, eradicated. There's just nothing left of the BTG except a handful of troops, and maybe a small number of vehicles, and they're going to have to be reconstituted or reapplied to others. We've seen others that are, you know, down 30 percent manpower, or even higher."

Regardless of political sympathies, we must be as truthful and neutral as possible to recognize the value and meanings of EU/NATO membership for small countries in the close vicinity.
Indeed. If you were a poor former Soviet state that just declared independence, then joining the EU and NATO is a no brainer. As much as I hate Lithuania for their bullshit Taiwanese meddling, they made an great geopolitical decision to join NATO and EU when Russia couldn't act in 2003.

So they basically moved the Patriot from Poland to Slovakia. Brilliant NATO. Just brilliant.
Look at a map people. This is a brilliant move. Not.

actually, some times breaking up one’s own country is the only way to avert a ruinous civil war or eliminate the prospect of civil war without end. example of this is too numerous to name,

and some times the difference in regional interests is such the results of the split developed much better independently than they could have together. one extreme example of this is the break up of the first british empire into britain and the united states. It is inconceivable the english speaking world would have become so powerful and influential had britain managed to suppress the american rebels and prevent the american colonies from breaking away to form the US

"The Russians Fighting Putin in Ukraine"
--Amie Ferris-Rotman in 'Time' magazine

"A war within a war has emerged in Ukraine. More than a month after the Russian army invaded on the order of
President Vladimir Putin, more and more Russian nationals are fighting alongside Ukrainians.
The combatants, who appear to number in at least the hundreds, describe Putin as the enemy, even as they take up arms
against their countrymen. They range from captured Russian soldiers to political dissidents ..."

"Ukraine’s government, which has cast the war as a contest between the forces of darkness and light, is leveraging Russian disunity.
On April 5, three men wearing military fatigues and black balaclavas faced reporters in Kyiv, where they announced a new battalion

composed entirely of Russian citizens, including former POWs. Addressing their fellow Russians, they
said they were morally outraged by Moscow’s lack of discipline and apparent disregard for human life."

passed a new law saying any Russian soldier who
surrenders with a warship or jet will be awarded $1 million. A captured tank will earn them $100,000 and there is $10,000 for smaller
military equipment. The first vice-speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Oleksandr Kornienko, said the rewards would motivate the
“demoralized occupying army”. The law comes after a previous offer by Kyiv of $10,000 to any Russian soldier who surrenders."
That's awesome.
Is there any other freedom? Like freedom for bum chicks?snowden.jpg

How big is the Russian economy in total GDP, compare to EU/US. How big is Russian GDP per capita, compare to EU/US.
what ever is Russian GDP size. they have done spending on infrastructure and real R&D without creating debt for the government and society. i mean they have been moving troops/ equipment in addition to Chinese BRI goods from Asia to Europe reliably for whole year. it is both competence of people and reliability of engineering.

Now if Ukraine has to choose between joining Russia (and whatever Russia-led security alliance) and joining EU and (US-led) NATO, how do you convince the Ukrainians to join Russia?
Ukraine will face Europe high cost of living without infrastructure and salaries. this will cause even more population loss.
Ukraine still has offer on table which is not available to others.

MOSCOW, April 4 - RIA Novosti. Ukraine's entry into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) would open up good prospects both for the economy of this country and for the entire union, so such a step looks more logical and profitable than drawing Ukraine into an unequal association with the European Union, the Minister of Economic Affairs said in an interview with RIA Novosti. integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Sergey Glazyev.
