Could be a false flag attack? I doubt Ukrainian helicopters can even fly that far.

Nope. This is 80 km from Kharkov. This is entirely in range of Ukrainian helicopters. It SHOULD have been heavily defended between the two: ground AD and airborne AWACS with fighters for an intercept.

And yet...it was not.

Also, this was confirmed by the government of Belgorod.

That said, unless this becomes a regular occurence, this is just an embarrassment. Well, unless the Russians don't have backup oil facilities. I'd expect they would, but, let me be honest, my expectations of all things Russian logistics were higher than what we've seen.

We have known from almost day 1 that NATO has been feeding them intelligence.

Its a helicopter. Their whole thing is to fly low. You can't simply defend all your positions with air defences.

Its simple, Russia needs AWACs. Time for some AWACs salesmen to do their job. We got plenty of good products to offer to Russia
Of course, we all know that. But doesn't just seem like intelligence. This seems that the Ukrainians actually formulated plans/proposals to attack after first receiving strategic intelligence from NATO, for NATO to review, refine, regather more detail info and eventually formulated a detailed plan with NATO information infrastructure.

In other words, it's like NATO's operational "brain" semi-integrated with Ukrainian forces on this particular operation.

Wow paranoia is starting to bloom big time !

''Zelensky removes two top Ukrainian generals, says he does not have "time to deal with all the traitors"''

Former chief of the Main Department of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine, Naumov Andriy Olehovych, and the former head of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region, Kryvoruchko Serhiy Oleksandrovych have been stripped of their rank. It will help them for sure !
Things are going perfectly for the Ukrainians...

It will probably happen again, since unlike the Houthis, they are fed with tons of NATO intel. Albeit elsewhere than Belgorod which the Ukies have tried to hit numerous times already. But in the big picture, it's pretty insignificant. What is sure though is that the cope will run high after this bedcheck charlie raid. They'll probably make a movie out of it mark my words ;)

Russia parked 2 A-50s in Belarus but apparently aren't watching their own back yard.

Maybe they didn't deploy them. Could be arrogance and/or incompetence on Russia's part, assuming that the enemy doesn't have any credible air force left and relaxing after claiming to have obtained air superiority.

To be fair, it is possible Ukr chopper attacked in between gaps of AWAC patrols, they'd be waiting for NATO intel for when that happens.

I'm assuming Russian does have regular AWAC patrol, it may not be true at all.... I assume they do, because it is not only needed for air defense, it is also needed to spot many other stuffs on the ground, like MLRS/ballistic missile launches.
