Ukies must have been fed intel about air movements by US/NATO ISR I suppose. And yes, the VKS might want to pay more attention, but these night witches/ bedcheck charlie attacks are definitely hard to detect. Pantsir and Tor crews might have been caught sleeping
What's most impressive is actually the fact that they have the strategic intelligence to conduct such an operation. This is quite strategic. As this fuel station would be an important logistic node supporting the Russian operations against Kharkov. I think they are backed by US intelligence.

Some people on twitter speculated that they flew from Kharkov, and no. What good is it to do a false flag now on one of your important strategic resources. There was pro-Russian people in twitter thinking Russia let it happen so that they can escalate their attack (Sounds like cope to me but ok).
We have known from almost day 1 that NATO has been feeding them intelligence.
Its a helicopter. Their whole thing is to fly low. You can't simply defend all your positions with air defences.
Its simple, Russia needs AWACs. Time for some AWACs salesmen to do their job. We got plenty of good products to offer to Russia
