Re: Type 95 assault rifle

No worries mate, I think it's all down to the like or dislike of bulbub design. I personally belong to the later cathergory, tough I must admitt that I've never used any bulbub type rifle...perhaps my bad blood against it is just the fear of unknown. But still my dislike is not totally irrational. Bulbub is good weapon in paper, it solves many desirable things, but being goo in paper doesen't mean it's good in practical use and many rumours and reports of different bulbub type rifles including the Type 95 speaks of them having some proplems exspecially when it comes to comfortable use...
I think the only advantage that the bullpup configuration had over the conventional configuration of the rifle was its shorter overall length.

When the Type 95 rifle is comapred with te M-16 rifle, which rifle is considerably more capable? I know for a fact that the Type 95 rifle has two functions: automatic or burst-fire. And for the M-16 rifle: semi-automatic and burst-fire. Comparably, which two rifles are better?

"Spray and pray" loses hands-down. In a gunfight, whomever gets off the first accurate shot wins. True, more rounds downrange statistically increases one's chances of hitting something, particularly in the hands of an inexperienced marksman. However, the same inexperience factor also statistically increases one's chances of missing something. As for ruggedness and reliability, that's an entirely different argument. As the world has learned, you cannot beat a Kalashnikov for still functioning even if the one who carries it is dumber than a box of rocks and whose idea of cleaning the weapon is dunking it in a stream. The inventor who combines the best of the two weapons will be able to retire comfortably...

The Type 95 (QBZ-95) assault rifle actually has semi-automatic and burst fire. Most sites have indicated that their is the burst mode and rarley some sites indicate that their is an automatic mode. But a personal opinon I reckon that China would conserve ammo and would stick with the semi-automatic and burst fire modes.

i think what they mean by burst is fully automatic.

Burst is like 2-3 shot mode. Fully automatic is what was it says fully automatic. Though you might be right I think its dumb to have an automatic mode, since the burst mode is plenty enough for high rate of fire. Different topic the Type 95 stocks end were it meets the user armpit area (forget what its called) is solid. They should apply some shock absorbale rubber at the end. This would control the burst fire mode to make it more accurate and absorb most of the shock, away from the soldier.

Unfortunately, many people get 'Burst' and Automatic confused. But hopefuly, they are making it Semi-Burst only.

Re: Type 95 assault rifle

This is all a matter of semantics. In the US for example burst generally means a mechanically limited length of fire when the trigger is pulled. Where as in other countries it can have a different meaning. In Germany for example, on the G36 the fire selector has Sicher: safe, Einzelfeuer: literaly translating to single fire, and Feuerstoß: literaly translating to burst fire but it is actually fully automatic. So once again as you can see its all semantics that vary from place to place. My guess is that the Type 95 has semi-auto and full auto modes but no limited burst fire mode.

One question: What's the problem with high sights? The sight is always on the top and when you look into the sight, iron or telescopic, your brain is still exposed, so what's the difference if you have a higher sight?

What they mean by that Sumdud is that if you're firing from cover you have to have the barrle over the cover and because the sights are several inches higher then the barrle it maks you more exposed.I think thats just a "con" claimed by bull pup haters. The line of sight on an M16 for example is just as high and ive never heard any one complain about that.
