Need not be in Hong Kong if air soft. Real sword airsoft Qbz97 is widely exported and well you cannot buy a live Qbz97 in the US or Canada (now) buying them Airsoft is legit. Same for the UK and likely Japan.

Yeah, but airsoft in US and Europe are mandatory to have a bright orange-coloured muzzle, if I recall; plus ReadSword based in HK (alas components are MIC, IIRC the manufacturer is a arms factory) thus I think it should be in HK.

That would not stop someone from painting the end of the mock suppressor. Or using PhotoShop to do so.

I know...but having that thing screwed on a SOCOM suppressor means it's obvious an airsoft, hands down, and the slides and bodies of the pistols can be changed into aftermarket mod kit as well, but that's too much work...meanwhile, doing photo shoots in HK can go straight in without all those extra works.

Besides, Magpul PTS sells EMAG for airsoft (AEG versions I'm certain because I owned a few of that, and RS Type-97 comes only in AEG version), all the other attachments have made-in-China replicas (cheap knock-offs to be honest, but...unless you got money to burn, why'd you put real stuff on a toy anyway?) as well.

I am pretty well sold on air soft now but from where? once again the optic and grip and mag are all available in Europe and the US. Still there is a easy way to prove it the second photo has a watermark for "HAWK STUDIO".
I google and found a LA based Hawk Studios that makes resin models.

Some city's police SWAT might have enough budget to get nice imports for their guns (just a matter of zeroing), but you're right, this is not for China's domestic use - even the police use QBZ-95, not -97. The -97 is purely for export. However, the accessory attachment kit is usable on QBZ-95 as well, but primary users are police units, if seen with regular PLA outfits that usually an individual effort and from units that deploys beyond mainland. Overall, the PLA is very slow in catching the MIL-STD-1913 thing.

And most likely what you see are airsoft platforms, pictures probably taken in Hong Kong, on the ground that only there of all place in PRC can legally own airsoft.

the picture show seem to be real weapon though. both slide of glock and barreta are lock back showing its the real thing. also there seem to be ammo inside the pmag. airsoft doesn't has these type magazine. could be a canadian picture

Sorry but I am afraid your wrong.
1) the Canadian government confiscated all the type97carbines sold other then to property houses.
2) the suppressor is now confirmed as a Kac mk23 mod0 its the only suppressor that is segmented and has divots like that. But the suppressor in question is meant for a .45acp pistol not a assault rifle. But it has airsoft replicas that could be fine for any air soft replica including assault rifles.
3)outside of Canada the only other possible are Cambodian SF or the military of Miramar both of whom, I doubt would dress a tac vest with a prc flag. only other would be a Chinese PMC who use them but I doubt also use western accessories and side arms.
4) fake rounds in air soft mags is nothing new Tokyo Mauro's G36C came straight out of the box with a magazine that faced not just the cases but the bullets to.
