Not sure if anyone noticed, the missile Tubes' cover looks like those roll-up doors used in store fronts. Anyone know if these are blast off ones or do they need to retract them before missile launch. Any precedent in other missile boats?

They stopped doing serial numbers when the netheads started doing counting via serials. Also, even if there are serials, they might have been PSed off by the fans before posting, for their own security and as a sense of patriotism, similar to aircraft pics.

How many of the 022's do you think the PLAN will make? and why for what purpose?

If it is for protecting attack land attacks on China PLAN would require 100's of these ships to protect its coast. What about an attack fleet? How many of these ships would PLAN build to create an attack fleet (say against the ROC)?

Well, I remember members who said that the PLA Marines' uniform, which shares the same camo as this, suck, but now that I look at these boats, my eyes are telling me that this is CGI. Anyone feel this?

Heard elsewhere that this blue camo (also the Marine's camo) works very well in the islands of the South China Sea.

Curious, given the number of these boats built now, has anyone ever seen any pics of these boats test firing any of its weapons? For a FAC, PLAN sure seems to be pretty tight lipped on the missiles it carries.

I often wonder the same thing. They build a horde of these ships but where are the missiles or the test firing?

They probably conducted missile testing on land, using the same launcher as these ships. That's why there are no test firing pictures of them out at sea.

You're supposed to do the testing before you build the ships like Big Macs. Otherwise, if you uncover a flaw, what happens if the flaw is already built into the 20+ ships? There is no point in testing because building that many ships already and confidently assumes the system works.

This clearly states that the missile can only be one that is fielded by the PLAN with such numbers that is considered their standard. Hence no need for further testing. A missile with this kind of confidence level only points to the YJ-83.
